Live Activities brings even more iOS 16 Lock Screen goodness to jailbroken devices

Ever since Apple announced and demoed the upcoming iOS 16 mobile operating system, many jailbreakers have awaited jailbreak tweaks that would port the new features to older pwned firmware. Today, we’re excited to show you a new release called Live Activities by iOS developer 0xkuj.

The new jailbreak tweak mentioned above brings iOS 16’s Live Activity feature to jailbroken iOS 14 devices, allowing users to see valuable information right on the Lock Screen with aesthetics that draw heavy inspiration from Apple’s upcoming mobile operating system.

Some of the Live Activity features that iOS 16 provides utilize APIs and the likes that aren’t available to developers, so obviously this jailbreak tweak doesn’t include information for all of the same live activities that iOS 16 does, but it does provide some live information that users may find useful including:

  • Alarm Clock
  • Timer
  • Music
  • Calendar Events
  • Reminders
  • Stopwatch

Things that the Live Activities jailbreak tweak doesn’t include that are available in iOS 16 include sports score information, food delivery progress, taxi driver location, and a little bit more.

After you install Live Activities, you’re going to be able to view the information on your Lock Screen in one of two ways: 1) as a notification stack; or 2) as a floating view. The tweak is also highly configurable as you’re about to see when we dive into the dedicated preference pane below:
