Nintendo will drop Super Mario Run into the App Store on Thursday, December 15. The Apple-Nintendo partnership was first unveiled as, perhaps, the only surprise during the September iPhone 7 launch event. The iDB team couldn’t be more excited about Nintendo’s decision to build a full platform game for iOS, which has been long over due.

We are joining the excitement by offering a way to deck out your favorite iOS device with a set of Super Mario wallpapers with this week’s Wallpapers of the Week. Take a step inside for the downloads.

Super Mario

Our own Andrew O’Hara spent time playing the demo version at his local Apple Store and already posted a short review video, if you are hoping to see in-game action. Super Mario Run is receiving quite a bit of mainstream hype before launch, as one would expect for a first Nintendo offering of this kind, with an interview on the Late Night Show and a very informative 45 minute Apple video podcast [visit via a mobile device] interview with Shigeru Miyamoto.

Nintendo even launched a full two-minute live action commercial.

The game will require persistent internet connection. At least these wallpaper will not 😀

Does anyone have the image of the last screenshot of Mario That’s seen in the trailer in AppStore ?

Οκ it’s time to get serious.
Is it logical to praise in such extend a runner game based on simple graphics because simply is a franchise title?
Are we so miserable and burnt out that we don’t understand what they are servicing us?
Instead all all verdicts to be negative in order to make a new, better, 3d maybe, adventure game of super Mario bros, full of rich, animated graphics with plot and so on, we instead, cherish this poor game.
    Am i wrong here?

    • Tommy

I think you might be wrong, haha. People have been waiting for Nintendo to make their way to apple app stores for a Very long time, and we’re finally going to be able to see it on Thursday.

    • Chris Owen

I don’t necessarily agree although I understand where you’re coming from. But this game is definitely a step in the right direction for Nintendo, because they’ve finally bridged the gap between their consoles and mobile devices.

    • Diego Milano

That’s a negative way of seeing things. I personally am not a fan of Mario in any of its sagas, however I do recognize it marked many people’s lives, especially those who are around 30+ years old or so, which is one of the reasons why (but not necessarily) those who haven’t had the experience don’t see anything interesting about it.

      God damn right

    • Smegmatron

They are just making a dime out of nostalgia. This is a glorified Flappy Bird

    • Agneev Mukherjee

Simple graphics?!?! Based on the intro video on Fallon, the graphics is pretty good and smooth too…

  • Diego Milano

I like THAT ONE you’re holding in the main article photo, precisely!

The first wallpaper in any other shade (background) would be great…
