The iPhone 7 has finally started arriving in (some) people’s hands merely two week after being unveiled. It wasn’t the full-blown makeover many people had hoped for but there are lots of notable changes to Apple’s flagship phone.
In our video overview, I take a look at 20 of the top new features for Apple iPhone 7. Some are major upgrades, like the iPhone 7 Plus’s dual camera setup, while others are small and easy to overlook like the wider color gamut on the Retina Display.
The top 20 features for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus include:
- Optical Image Stabilization
- New Home button
- Lightning EarPods
- 25% brighter screen
- Water & dust resistance
- 7 MP front facing camera
- Louder speakers
- 2 cameras (7 Plus variant only)
- Stereo speakers
- New Taptic engine
- 2 new color finishes (and no more space grey)
- Wide color gamut
- Longer battery (2 hours compared to 6s, 1 hour compared to 6s Plus)
- 3GB ram (7 Plus variant only)
- 10x digital zoom (7 Plus variant only)
- Quad-LED True Tone flash that is 50% brighter
- ƒ/1.8 aperture
- A10 Fusion chip
- Higher capacity storage
- LTE Advanced, with speeds up to 450 Mbps
While this list is not exhaustive, I think this covers the most prominent features you can expect when you get your hands on the new iPhone 7. Some non included items includes larger/faster sensors on the camera, a new 6 element lens, wide color capture, up 25 LTE bands, and the upcoming AirPods.
I think I am most excited about the new cameras, but the new Taptic Engine gets my vote for most underrated feature that you really just have to experience.
What are you most excited about in the iPhone 7? Is it enough to tempt you into upgrading or are you holding out until next year?
