Apple on Thursday updated the App Store with a new App of the Week: Stackables for iPhone and iPad. This means that from now through next Thursday, you can pick up the popular photo editor for free—a solid savings of $6.

Stackables is a beautifully-designed effects and layering app. It’s packed with over 200 effects expertly crafted by by renowned photographer Dirk Wuestenhagen including textures, light leaks, analog film filters, grain and more.

From the App Store Editors’ Notes:

Turn your favorite snapshots into stunning works of art with this accessible image editor. Combine endless layers of unique filters, textures, and enhancements, then adjust your changes with precision–or return to your original photo with a tap. An uncluttered interface makes it easy to save sophisticated transformations and apply them to other pictures, then you can share your creations through social media and beyond.

I’m not super familiar with this app, but it has a 4.5 out of 5 star rating in the App Store on some 230 reviews. If you want to check it out for yourself, you can find Stackables for iPhone here and iPad here (yes, they’re separate apps).

    I like free stuff. Lol

It cool but don’t consider an app that has in-app purchases “free” at all.

  • This app is rock-solid. It took me a while to get into it, but it’s quickly become my “go to” photo editing app. There are some in-app purchases, but there are plenty of free filters and presets to keep you busy for quite a while.
