Bose products disappeared from Apple’s online store in several countries (still in at least the UK Store) this afternoon. The change, first spotted by 9to5Mac, follows rumors that the long-standing retail relationship between the two companies has soured.

Customers will no longer come across Bose speakers and headphones in device accessory pages on, and a search for ‘Bose’ on Apple’s website comes up empty. It’s believed that we will soon start seeing similar removals from Apple’s retail stores.

The news comes amid a growing rivalry between Beats, now owned by Apple, and Bose. Thanks to its sponsorship deal with the NFL, Bose was able to successfully ban players from wearing Beats headphones while on TV. And then there was the patent suit.

It would seem, however, that Apple will get the last word. While Bose products are offered by countless other merchants, no one brings in consumers looking to buy premium electronics like Apple stores. I imagine this is going to do more than just sting Bose.

Serves them right, no one messes with Apple

    • If only someone told Bose that before they decided to mess with Apple…

  • vivalaivsca

i love apple, but bose are way better than beats.

    • igorsky

Thank you for sharing your personal preferences!

    • sosarozay300

sound quality? they probably are. looks? no

      • Sigh

Lol? Why’re you talking like those two things are of equal importance. Bose beats Beats (pun intended) where it counts.

      • sosarozay300

why dont they make their headphones look good? i dont get it?

      • Blip dude

Sometimes it isn’t always about the looks, and this is coming from a Beats owner. I do like my Matte Black Beats Studios, but man the second I get my hands on the QC 25s on sale, I will be buying without looking back!!!

The noise cancellation on those things are WAY better than what the beats studios have or will probably ever have to offer. I literally cannot hear the engine of the bus on my daily commute, and that’s even when I’m sitting all the way in the back were the engine of buses likely are to be. Plus the headphones will still keep functioning even after the batteries die out.

      • Cryx

Why don’t Beats make their headphones better even though they charge premium? I don’t get it?

      • Kaptivator

Because people are already paying a premium for them now. Beats is a fad, a look, and for some a statement. Some are willing to pay a premium for just a name. Not saying that Beats are not good. However, other products are better for the same if not less in price. Thing is, you wont get the Beats look. Ironic…People care more about the looks of an item that is to create a better sound. Just my opinion.

      • Gregory D Foster

Careful now, some people say the same thing about us Apple lovers.

      • Nate McKelvie

Bose sound better, but obviously that’s not what counts. Beats accounts for over 70% of the over $300 headphone market. I sell headphones in my store, and people always actually say “yeah these are much better sounding than the beats, and cheaper too, but I want the beats!” Because beats are the “in” thing. And that’s what counts

    • But some people care more about the looks than the usage, for such, there’s Audio Technica that sound great and look better than beats IMO, yet still costs less.

      • Jackson Grong

The Audio Technica M-50 are the best headphones ever made, just look it up on Amazon or YouTube.
I have them for 2 years and it has never failed to amaze everyone that try them out.
        + they’re pretty unexpensive.

      • onesimpleclik

Love my M-50x (: They sound so damn good.

      • Gregory D Foster

*inexpensive. SORRY! I had to. Please don’t hate me.

      • Vince Reedy

Where did you find that gold color?

    • Antzboogie

Maybe Beats bass is extreme and Bose headphones look ugly but sound good.

    • Real True Facts

^ Real True Fact right there.

  • Looks like the recent patent case settle didn’t change Apple’s mind…

    • I’m guessing the patent case settlement involved Apple paying money. So now Apple is removing their products meaning Bose will have less profits. I guess what I’m getting at is in a weird way Bose are paying for their own patent settlement by having their products removed from the Apple Store…

  • Richard Gomez

If I was apple I wouldn’t want to sell bose products anyways since they have Beats now same thing with fitbit they have the iwatch no need for them to sell it

  • hkgsulphate

i just feel sorry for them…

  • George V Golden

I disagree with the last statement of this article. I think this will actually sting Apple. Beats is a ‘premium’ electronics product in price only. Customers looking for true premium headphones will look elsewhere – especially those loyal to Bose. Even Apple can’t get me to buy a Beats product – it’s not gonna happen.

  • iRy757

In my opinion Bose will not be missed on our shelves, especially when we have products like Beats, Bowers & Wilkins, Bang & Olufson, Marshall, Alpine, and many others to display.

    • Carldini

      Alpine headphones blow

    • Slifur

      JBL FTW!

  • Daniel Beecham

    Apple 1 – Bose 0

  • Gary LE

So where did it ALL GO?

    • Abi Manyu

check the nearest apple store’s dumpster

  • Carldini

Bottom line is beats are better they are made by a music industry mogol…if Dre can make headphone that Apple buys for 3 billi I’m on board

  • Abe Villa

Some peeps are plain…. stupid. “I don’t like Bose because they look ugly”, and bass is all your looking for…. You seriously don’t know audio. Bose is quality for the price you pay. I will never purchase Beats anything. Apple is a fool for making this move. You seriously think that a majority of people including adults are going to want to buy Beats, when Bose has been around a lot longer than this? I don’t care if apple try’s to put their spin on it with their gold and white colors to make me seem less childish.

  • Gregory D Foster

Lol, I don’t think this will affect Bose. They’ve been selling speakers long before Apple and will continue to do so. Not to mention, Bose makes great home audio and car stereo equipment, from what I’ve seen from Beats, I’m not impressed. Unless of course earbuds become Beats headphones in which case I’ll be quietly accepting my bribe gift.

  • George

This makes Apple look bad in my eyes.

  • Itzkhaoz

Beats are for people who say “YOLO” or “swag”

  • Steiganator

This Jay Zed guy literally worded that IDENTICALLY to how i was planning on commenting. haha

  • rockdude094

They had Bose products there 😐
