iPhone 6 gray silver gold back camera

Apple could have to wait until next year to launch the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in China, according to 21st Century Business Herald. The Chinese news site is reporting today that the handsets have failed to receive the necessary approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

If true, this would be a huge blow to Apple, who some believe was hoping to ship as many as 80 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus units by the end of the year. China of course has two of the largest carriers in the world, China Mobile and China Unicom, and is an important market for the company.

Unfortunately, this certification from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is required for Apple to sell its new iPhones in the country. The firm can re-apply for approval at a later date, but that date is unknown, leaving iPhone 6/Plus availability in China uncertain.

Apple announced last week that both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will launch on Friday, September 19th, in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK. A second round of sales will begin a week later on September 26 in 20 additional markets.

    masturbation of a country 🙂

What??? I never thought China looked that nice? It doesn’t matter anyway, supply can’t keep up with sales as it is, it just means more inventory for the rest of the world. A lot of it coming out of Hong Kong straight back to China.

Well, we won’t get it here in the US till mid October or November.. What’s the difference?

    • ThoseCurves

I know right, i missed my pre-order and won’t stand in the queue either so i guess i will be getting it sometime mid to end October when the dust settles down.

    • Rowan09

It’s launch on Friday in the US.

    • Jack Wong

      Huh?

      • Adam

Yes, launch day is on Friday here on the US. But for those that preordered (including me), aren’t getting the phones till mid October early November. Total bummer!

      • Jack Wong

I woke up @3amEST on the Friday morning, wasted 1.5 hours and wasn’t able to place the order…

Then I went back to bed and woke up ~645amEST, placed like 10phones, most of the iPhone 6(unlocked) would come on 9/19(according to Apple, 3 are preparing to ship), 1 Verizon iPhone 6 would arrive on 9/19 also, but all the 6plus won’t arrive until first week of Oct.

Also, I have placed an order for Sprint with contract yesterday, it would arrive on 1st week of Oct.
