Resized SameStatus iOS 7

SameStatus is a new jailbreak tweak that does something incredibly simple: it allows you to make the size of the Lock screen status bar match the size of the Home screen status bar.

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but the information contained on the status bar on iOS 7’s Lock screen is a bit larger than the same info shown on the Home screen status bar. SameStatus is tweak that allows you to “fix” this issue.

Once you install SameStatus, there are no options or settings to configure, just install it and go. Once you respring from installation, you’ll immediately notice that the Lock screen’s status bar info matches the size of the Home screen’s status bar info.

SameStatus is a ridiculously simple tweak, but I like it a lot, and recommend it. If you want to try it, then go to Cydia’s BigBoss repo where it can be had for free.

What do you think about SameStatus? Do you plan on using it? Do you think it’s even needed?

  • Jonathan

I’ve actually noticed this. Going to download to see if I like it.

  • Vitor

You are working alot today Jeff 🙂

  • Tyler

You had to point that out didn’t you? Guess I’ll be installing this tweak so it doesn’t bug me now.

    • iosPixel

You will want NoPageDots 7 then too, as the page dots are not centered. How Apple made such a mistake, meh.

Disclaimer: I apologize for any annoyance caused by this post.

      • on3simpleclick

        omg they aren’t haha ugh

      • Sachka

Oh man! Now I noticed this :/

  • Burge

You put a “fix” for it, I didn’t know it was broken..

  • Barry

It’s incredibly simple. Does this even need an article? No offense to Jeff, but still. :/

    • on3simpleclick

yes it does because this incredibly little thing has been bugging me ever since I updated

      • Jerry

Yes it does. How else would we find out?

  • Now how to fix the status icons to match the Aura theme on the Lockscreen…

    • Sam

This has been fixed for me in the latest aura update. Separate option in winterboard for aura statusbarUI that needs checking

  • Aimon

Nvr noticed and cudnt careless on a serious note.

  • Jerry

this was driving me nuts. because the t-mobile would overlap on the time when I had the music app playing so my solution was removing the carrier logo all together. but this tweak is great

  • Has anyone noticed how when you uninstall on the 5s it actually doesn’t reverse the effect. Instead the lockscreen stays small and all the apps use the big status bar

  • Abdl

Does every little tweak need to be reviewed upon?? Jeff youve not reviewed AirBlue yet

  • ConduciveMammal

Off topic but has anyone found that newly installed jailbreak apps don’t show on the Springboard or in Spotlight, usually appearing a few restarts later? And if it’s fixable?

    • Clear the icon cache, /var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.IconsCache/ remove that folder “com.apple.IconsCache” and respring/reboot

      • ConduciveMammal

Hmmm I deleted it and resprung/rebooted but it just generated the folder again but otherwise had no effect

      • My bad wrong cache, what you need to do is remove

        /var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices-045.csstore
        /var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installation.plist

Or to be one the safe side, rename those with .bak behind it, then respring.

  • How about a tweak to make the home screen status bar the same as the lock screen status bar?

    • ReanimationXP

Please, for the love of god, this. The lockscreen is how it should, and always has, looked. Winterboard doesn’t give any theming options for this as far as I can tell. Sucks.

    • TonyVee73

Have you found a tweak that does this?

  • Jamie

Awesome! Can’t wait for Intelliscreen X to come out!

    • AndroidDogHeatandSteelersFan

same and i wish they would hurry up, bitesms is almost done. rather have money go to then than intelliborn’s “most important ios7 jailbreak tweak” bs first it was mywi which was okay then its intellixscreen x. i just wish they work on messages+ . piss me off

  • AndroidDogHeatandSteelersFan

Does anyone know to re align time and date some where else? subtlelock isnt as good …

  • Bobby

The giant statusbar has been bugging me ever since the release of ios7
Thank god for this tweak, awesome!

  • Sachka

Yes! Exactly Jeff this is what I was looking for! I mean how not apple is that size? I am still waiting for apple to fix that, the name of my carrier is so big it puts everything crammed on screen :/ thank you, my eyes needed this.

  • obada

When you turn on the Reduce Motion option in the Settings, you will easily notice the difference.

  • J™

tweak like this should cost at least 4.99

  • Ignas

Am I the only one who never noticed that, and after this article still doesn’t care?

    • Rot Kelfer

      Yes.

    • Vitor

you are not alome my friend

  • Rot Kelfer

    Thanks for this.
It has been bugging me for a while.

  • TonyVee73

Saw this tweak and Springtomize 3 as soon as I opened up Cydia yesterday morning and I installed them ASAP.

  • ReanimationXP

I want exactly the opposite of that. The smaller wifi icon creates an optical illusion that makes the bar widths look inconsistent and weird unless you have the screen on your eyeballs.

The locked statusbar makes it look like it always has – great. I want this on the homescreen.

  • Woody P

Does anyone know if there’s a tweak that does the opposite (makes the homescreen statusbar the same size as the lockscreen)?

  • Shone Zver

    It should be vise vrsa

  • TonyVee73

    I’m quoting Anthony3595
“How about a tweak to make the home screen status bar the same as the lock screen status bar?” Anyone find a tweak that does this?

  • evilmonkey07

I know I’m kind of late to the party, but has this stopped working for anyone? It hasn’t worked for me for a few months, even after the 7.1.x update.

  • Danskedanske

I was a loyal supporter of ios 6 so i could care less about ios 7.
But ever since pangu released the 7.1.1 jb, something inside me tells me that i should update, and so i did.
But after the update n jb, i immediately noticed the status bar and it has bugging me ever since. But i try to ignore it nevertheless. I had hoped it would be fixed in 7.1.2 but alas its still the same.
Enough is enough. Went to google for a solution and whaddaya know, idb has it. And here i am writing this long comment for the first time ever after years as a frequent reader.
What would i be without you, jeff. Youve made my old and weary iphone 4 complete. And perhaps, when the time comes, it can die peacefully.
    Thank you.
