Looking for an accessory that will help you get the most out of your iPhone? Then you might want to check out the XiStera, by the SwipeCase team. With 8 different functions, it’s essentially the swiss army knife of iPhone accessories.

The XiStera may look like a little 2-3-inch piece of plastic, but it’s not. Under that TPV santoprene mold is a stainless steel component that houses multiple useful functions including a headphone wrap, tripod mount, and more…

Want to crack open a cold one? No problem, just use XiStera’s built-in bottle opener. Need to jot down a quick note? Easy, XiStera also has a built-in capacitive stylus. Lens adapter? Check. Keychain clip? Check. Here’s the whole list:

– bottle opener

– portrait stand

– portrait mount

– key chain attachment

– lens adapter

– ear bud wrap

– landscape mount

– landscape stand

– capacitive stylus

– LED lighting option

– key attachement

And here it is in action:

As you’ve probably figured out by now, the XiStera is not an actual product yet. It’s a Kickstarter project, with about 30 days left before it gets funded. The good news, though, is that it’s already passed its goal, so it should be ready to ship by the fall.

If you’re interested in picking one up for yourself, a pledge of as low as $20 will get your name on the pre-order list. I probably won’t be picking one up myself, but the fact the project raised some $25,000 in its first week means that a lot of people are.

It’s only available for the iPhone 5 now. But if there’s enough interest, the team says it will add 4 and 4S support.

What do you think of the XiStera?

  • Kinda neat.

  • This totally reminds me of the Studio Neat Glif.

    Thought this was a capo.

    • Would have been useful if it was.

      • TeddyBearStand

“A capo that is controlled via the iPhone…” was what I was hoping to read.

      • I agree. I am a musician and one thing that would have been nice is to transpose the song by switching capo and playing the same chords without having a pause.

  • Badob

Does it work with iPod 5gen

  • That’s Mazatlán (México) my hometown!

    • Most of the video was shot in Mazatlan. Some shots are SLR and some are from the iPhone 5. Hard to tell the difference with daylight conditions.

  • bloodshed

some people would just buy anything.

  • iOops

looks like a redneck iPhone accessory

  • Would gladly donate if it supported iPhone 4/4S, but it currently doesn’t….pass.

  • Mohammed Sahib

Jack of all trades is master of none.

    Love that cover of Lights!

  • Thanks Cody!

“Imagine” how this could be a waste of your money.
