message send percent

We try to cover as many new jailbreak tweaks as we can here at iDB, from game-changers like Velox to the smallest of UI changes. And this next one we’re going to be talking about definitely falls in the latter category.

Message Send Percent, by developer greensnow, is a simple little UI tweak that adds a percentage indicator to your Messages app. This enables you to get a more precise readout on the progress of your outgoing messages…

When I say little, I mean little. There’s no Home screen icon for Message Send Percent, and there’s no settings. Once installed, the only time you’ll notice it is when you send an outgoing text from the Messages app.

In my brief testing, I found the tweak to be accurate and stable. And it blended in nicely with the stock UI. I guess I could see how some folks might like this for the aesthetics, because otherwise, its purpose is pretty wispy.

At any rate, if you’d like to try out Message Send Percent, you can find it in Cydia, in the ModMyi repo, for free.

  • This can be useful when sending large files like videos. Just my two cents.

    • u mad, bro?

This comment is becoming far to common and has lost its context.

        u mad, bro?

  • most of the times it takes less than 1 sec to send a single sms. So i don’t think this tweak is for me. However sometimes when you send multiple long message this could be a tad useful.

    • not always, the slider takes time when the network is low.

  • Not useful

Is there a tweak to enable SMS delivery reports compatible with iOS 6/iPhone 5?

  • J™

SMS is almost as good as dead now because of whatsapp, line, wechat etc etc…

  • This tweak came out a while ago, methinks. Anyway, it works well with bitesms.

  • Texts are an all-or-nothing process. It hasn’t really sent 95% of the text when the bar gets stuck there. It’s just waiting for the cell tower to confirm the message has gone.
So yeah it’s good for personal aesthetics like Cody said.

exactly… fools will think they have time to cancel a sent text…lol not.. Hey thats a great idea for a teal actually … “confirm text ” dialog that pops u every time you try to send texts and you can set it to work on certain contact etc..coool

  • John Smith

    Does it work with biteSMS?

    • John Smith

I just tried it out and it doesn’t work on biteSMS. Hope the developer can include an update for biteSMS users soon.

    • nope doesnt work with bitesms i have it too

    • It works with bitesms if you have iFile and can change half a line of code.

      • Gorgonphone

okay so that answer is no..

      • John Smith

Would you mind elaborating a bit?

      • Open iFile and go to /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries and open the messagesendpercent.plist with the text viewer and hit Edit. Replace the line with com.bitesms. Hit Save button. Done

      • John Smith

I couldn’t get it to work…I tried bitesms, BiteSMS, and biteSMS and rebooted, but none of them worked…

      • I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe reinstall the tweak and try again. Make sure your code is written correctly, it isn’t case sensitive. Just make sure there aren’t any stray periods or anything. Don’t delete the whole line, just delete apple.mobilesms and replace it with bitesms
Make sure you hit save. Then respring. No period after either

  • I read well. But, why is this tweak necessary?

    • Gorgonphone

  • Nevermind!
