Calmi: toggle vibration with the silent/ringer switch

By , Apr 15, 2013

I rarely use ringtones with my iPhone. In fact, I can’t even remember the last time I’ve heard my ringtone, because my iPhone stays on silent mode 99% of the time.

Sometimes I find that even the motor from the vibration is too much for me, so I quickly tap the volume buttons to completely silence the phone. Calmi is a jailbreak tweak for people like me. It’s a tweak that allows you to turn the ringer/vibrate switch into a vibrate/silent switch.

Calmi Settings

There really isn’t much to be said about Calmi, other than the fact that it features a kill switch in the Settings app. Oh, and that little coffee icon in the settings is pretty cool too. If you want to try out Calmi, then skedaddle on over to Cydia’s BigBoss repo where it can be had for free.

Can’t this tweak be done already thru the regular settings app?

Not as easily as flipping the silent switch.

It can be done with SBSettings or NCSettings, with the switch in the silent position without losing the ringer capability, so it is kind of redundant. In otherwords, you can have it in the ring position, or silent position (in silent or vibrate with the toggle)

You guys don’t get it do you? This tweak turns the switch from “ring/vibrate” to “vibrate/silent”. This tweak gets rid of the buzzing. Some people just don’t like the buzzing of the phone even when their phone is on vibrate mode. Get it?

Perfect, I never use the ringtones either, and I don’t like when my phone vibrates too much at night

I’d have preferred a tweak to toggle rotation with it (like on the ipad) Any developers reading please make it happen

no ringtone no vibrate then will have to keep checking on the phone to see if anyone called
