Belkin unveils new keyboard case for iPad mini

The iPad mini, because of its size and lack of high-end features, has been informally dubbed a consumption device. It seems like more folks are using it more for web surfing and media than they are for getting work done.

But those of you who are using the mini for work purposes may be happy to hear that Belkin has just taken the wraps off its new Portable Keyboard Case. It’s slim, lightweight, and has a removable Bluetooth keyboard…

From Belkin’s press release (via iMore):

“With a laptop-style keyboard and well-spaced keys for its size, the Belkin Portable Keyboard Case for iPad mini helps reduce typing mistakes common on tablets. It also connects simply via Bluetooth® wireless technology and has iPad mini-specific shortcut keys to easily control audio and video. The integrated folio offers sleek, low-profile protection with a smooth inner lining to protect against everyday wear and tear. When not in use, the keyboard folds flat into the case making it easy to pack away and go.”

Belkin’s Portable Keyboard is surprisingly packed with features. The keys on the keyboard are well-spaced, despite its size, it can go for more than 150 hours without needing a charge, and it even has a camera lens cutout.

Just like with the iPhone 5, iPad mini accessories are pretty hard to find. So if you’re looking to get a mini owner something for the holidays, this may be your best bet. The Keyboard Case is $79 and will be available later this month.
