Apple has been taking a lot of heat lately for failing to effectively pursue safer working conditions in its overseas manufacturing plants, but also for outsourcing its product assembly to China – because you know, they’re the only company outsourcing to China…

If there is one thing the company is doing well these days, it’s their charity donation program, which was initiated by Tim Cook as he became CEO of Apple last year.

The Verge reports:

According to our sources, Cook said that Apple has donated a total of $50 million to Stanford’s hospitals, split into $25 million for a new main building and $25 million for a new children’s hospital. Cook also spent quite a bit of time talking about Apple’s status as the leading contributor to Project RED, and expressed pride that Apple’s given over $50 million to the effort since it started.

See, Apple is not so evil after all.

  • That’s great work there.

    • I think Tim Cook is making a big difference.

    • someone is in love

    • Why the heading is “See, Apple is Not So Evil After All”? I never heard anything ‘Evilly’ they have done so far!!!

  • thats was huge changes there!

  • This is not new for me, but at least will be for the world.

  • It feels good to know that there are people who care about a human’s health.

Liking Cook far better than Jobs to be honest. Good to see him that the initiative…

Yeah to bad he’s not the same visionary. But then again we haven’t seen anything from him yet.

  • When Jobs came back to Apple, he almost immediately ended all philanthropic endeavors. His complete lack of charity is one thing I won’t miss about him. It is really great to see Apple making a difference in ways besides making great products. Good for Tim Cook. Keep up the good work.

You might want to look into getting a new keyboard. Your period, question mark and exclamation keys are really messing with your posts. Hell, it is even messing with your “i” key as well.

I really hope Tim’s intentions are genuine but what does it matter, look who whats happing here, better healthcare for children. Also what makes Apple donating money any different then you or me? I dontate to my church and am able to write off a certain percentage on my taxes, does that make me evil? I don’t think so

  • Ziig, fuck off
