pod2g Enlists 3 Legendary Hackers to Help With the A5 Untethered Jailbreak

pod2g has been working feverishly to give us an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. While the untether for A4-based iOS devices and older on iOS 5.0.1 has already been released, the A5 untether has yet to see the light of day.

Now, pod2g has listed 3 legendary jailbreak hackers, planetbeing, MuscleNerd, and p0sixninja, to help him with the A5 jailbreak for iOS 5:

@planetbeing, the legendary hacker behind iPhone Linux and lot of jailbreaks (http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=User:Planetbeing) has joined the A5 research!

The famous @MuscleNerd (http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=User:MuscleNerd), the leader of the iPhone Dev Team, who did a lot of tests for Corona and whom integrated it and made it simple in redsn0w is willing to help also.

And last, but not least @p0sixninja (http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=User:Posixninja), the leader of the Chronic Dev Team, and my partner for years on iPhone security research has started to code and fuzz the Apple sandbox.

As pod2g says on his blog, he now has a “dream team” to help him test and release the A5 untethered jailbreak available for the public.

    i worry that this delays things considerably. but hey, we’ve waited this long…a little longer won’t hurt. look how long it took to get the first ipad 2 JB out there.

      He’s got the “A-listers” of the jailbreak community working with him.
      This going to do nothing but help him finish things quicker.

    not that I don’t appreciate all the work they do, but this seem contradictory.

    He said recently that it would be ready next week, then he says he has problems since we would need dev accounts, and now he enlists others for help.

    Are things going as scheduled or not?

      again…he said “with any luck”. so that leaves the door open for a longer delay which is fine. again, this stuff is free and by no means a right…it’s a privileged.

        I think you’re taking what I said the wrong way.

        I do realize that they are doing this for free and I appreciate it greatly. It just seems that we’ve been getting mixed signals for a while. Personally I would prefer realistic statements. It’s like when they said the untethered jailbreak was ready for 5.0 and we got it months later.

        anyways, they can do what they want, just gonna take the updates a bit less seriously :)

      I am too busy popping pimples and playing xBox to figure out how to jailbreak my own device, or tweak my own springboard. You owe me a jailbreak, and your not doing it fast enough. I need installous and Xcellize cause I don’t have a job and my dad quit giving me money.
