Only moments ago we told you that i0n1c released his untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2. The download that i0n1c posted consisted of the jailbreak code, instead of an actual tool for end users.

Right after i0n1c’s release, the Dev Team has updated the RedSn0w jailbreak tool with iOS 4.3.2 support. RedSn0w will successfully jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 and is available on both Mac OS X and Windows.

From the Dev Team’s blog,

“Only a few weeks after the 4.3.1 untether created by @i0n1c was released, Apple pushed out firmware 4.3.2. Thankfully, it appears Apple didn’t have a chance to fix the hole used by @i0n1c’s untether, so he ported his code over to 4.3.2’s kernel.

As always, ultrasn0w unlockers should stay away from redsn0w and only update their firmware through a custom IPSW. We’ll release a new version of PwnageTool sometime this week.

Note that many people are currently having problems updating to 4.3.2 through saurik’s server. You’ll need to remove the gs.apple.com entry in your hosts file in order to restore directly to Apple’s servers.”

RedSn0w has already offered a tethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2, but this new update allows for a more stable untethered solution.

Check our iPhone downloads page for links to the latest version of RedSn0w (rc13). Check out our tutorial on how to jailbreak with RedSn0w.

Will you be jailbreaking iOS 4.3.2 with RedSn0w? Let us know about your experience in the comments!

    WTH is going on? help?

  • Dre

It’s a known problem… How can I delete the stuff left back over from tiny umbrella???? And make it fresh?? If I want to restore I have to use another laptop..

  • Andy

Everything went fine but reboot got stucked at the Apple logo. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thank you

  • Dre

there is a problem with the Jailbreak…as the DEV TEAM said..dont try it YET

  • lowkkss

    To all,
To those facing the crash at ramdisk phase, pls go to (window vista or 7) CONTROL PANEL -> SYSTEM – > DEVICE MANAGER -> under the Univeral Serial Bus Controllers , disable the “APPLE MOBILE DEVICE USB Driver” . After that re-run your redsnow Jailbreak and you are good to go. Some window PC hardware may experience this drivers conflict between redsnow program and the apple Mobile device USB driver. Remember to enable after your JB. If not your iphone4 will not be detected by the PC or iTunes itself.. cheers and have a good JB.
It works for me and i’ve been trying to resolve this driver issue on the hardware. Finally solved it within two weeks…..

I Jailbroke again using redsn0w 0.9.6rc14 – all worked well, but iTunes wasn’t recognising my device after the first sync. Followed the above instructions and all is well now.

Thanks @lowkkss. Thanks to iDB as well.

  • Dre

this just came in from the dev team

Update #1: Until @i0n1c has a chance to fix the i4 version, we’ve removed the i4 untether from redsn0w (making it a tethered-only JB for i4 right now

  • ohho

Stuck’ed at the Apple logo. Is there a way to restore to normal firmware?redsn0w | 0.9.6rc13 | iPhone 4 4.3.2 unlocked

  • Nick4G

Good bye tethered, hello untethered!! Just jailbroke my iPhone 3GS new bootroom and putting everything back 🙂

  • phosphorus

    You guys are not stuck

You have a tethered jailbreak so you have to boot it tethered.

    Do that…

  • Ben

redsn0w 0.9.6rc14 released. This fixes the iPhone 4 problem

  • Tim

Hi I’m a noob to this…but everything goes well until the moment i try to start cydia afterwards. it is a gray icon and when i tap it just doesnt want to open. It gives a short gray screen and that’s it. I already re-JB my phone but that doesnt help. Anyone any idea?
    Thx in advance

    • Vitica

Reboot your device or Run RedSnow again and choose only ‘just boot tethered right now’ if you’re stuck at apple logo
      It should fix Cydia

  • Vitica

    @Alex
Do you think I can Re-Jailbreak my i4 with RedSnow rc 14 (already tethered JB with rc 13) without clean restore to get untethered?!!
    Is it safe?!
    Thanks in advance

    • lowkkss

      Vitica,
Yes you can run over rc13 with rc14. that will give you the untethered jailbreak but remember to uncheck/unselect “INSTALL CYDIA” at the option box so that during the re-jailbreak RC14 will not disturb your RC13 cydia. I’ve tried that and it’s good to go!!

      • Vitica

        @Lowkkss
        Thanks alots! =)
        you’ve save me a lot of time…
        It works!

  • thanks a lots….it works perfectly! i used the latest version of redsnow (v 0.9.6rc14) on my iphone 4 4.3.2 firmware…and it untethered…

  • Brian

Wow, this took me a long time to get installed! I kept having so many problems. I forgot that I needed to do the following on my Win 7 x64 PC before installation:
    1. Set redsn0w.exe Properties to Compatibility = Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
    2. Run redsn0w.exe as Admiminstrator.

Finally got it iOS 4.3.2 JB installed on my iPhone 4 🙂

  • Yeong-Tae

Someone help! I am using a 3GS, on 4.3.2, on a Windows Vista computer. I tried it and it kept crashing at the ramdisk install, so I disabled the Apple Mobile Device USB as someone said, but it still messed up because every time I disabled the USB and then went through the process, it kept enabling itself again. I finally got my computer to keep it disabled, but then the screen went white on the ‘waiting for reboot’ screen. What do I need to do?

    • Brian

@Yeong-Tae: None of that Apple Mobile Device USB disabling helped me. Have you tried what I described in the post above yours? That is what solved the problem in previous versions too.

      • Yeong-Tae

@Brian: Yes, I tried, but on Vista it won’t let me change to Windows XP (SP3), it only has Windows XP (SP2). Does that make a difference? Also, it asks if my 3GS is an older or newer model, and that if the week it was made is between 40-45, then it could be either. Well, mine is 40, but I selected older model every time cause i guessed it was probably older……would that make any difference?

      • Brian

@Yeong-Tae: Windows XP (SP2) should work fine. I don’t know the answer on the 3GS.

      • Yeong-Tae

@Brian: Ok, I think I fixed the problem. I’ve got Windows Vista, not 7, so I had to change compatibility to Windows 98/Me, not Windows XP. Then, it went through fine, and now it’s going through the process on my iPhone….I’ll post again if there are any more problems. Thanks for your help!

      • Yeong-Tae

Well, I thought it worked – went through the whole process just fine, but Cydia doesn’t show up anywhere (and yes, I checked on other pages and searched for it too.)

  • EP

Same for me. No Cydia. In fact I don’t get any of the options at the start of the install

  • kevinn

everytime i try jailbreaking windows pops up with some error that causes redsnow to close…
    im stuck any suggestions ?

  • kevinn

ive tried doing what u had post earlier brian… still problem is reoccurring

  • camau68

Need help with bluetooth ! I have jailbroken iphone 4 4.3.2 with redsn0w, everything works well. Only bluetooth is not working at all.

    • Brian

And “Bluetooth=On” under General Settings? First thing I would try would be to redo the JB. I’m not having bluetooth issues (or any others with my iPhone 4 4.3.2).

Cydia servers are having issues because of the current Amazon EC2 (cloud computing) outage and I’ve seen recommendations that one should not do jailbreaks until that is resolved.

  • cengaver83

If it’s freezing in “Loading ramdisk” phase, here is the solution. Before applying jailbreak run redsn0w.exe and go to task manager in windows. Right click to redsn0w.exe and set affinity and select only cpu1. Then apply jailbreak. It worked for me !!! Enjoy!!

  • jv

I’m having issues with push when I’m on 3G. Works fine on wifi.

    • jv

To clarify, I’ve jail broken 4.3.2 via redsn0w and every things seems fine except for push. If anyone has a solution, please let me know. :). Thanks in advance!

  • Nice one thanks for sharing ur site helped me to jailbreak my 3 apple products!
