Remarkable music video mixing app vjay hits iPad

Something awesome just landed on your iPad, courtesy of Algoriddim, the maker of cool DJ-ing app dubbed djay. Their newest release is a music video mixing program for the iPad called vjay. Now, I've been to parties where high-tech DJs perform live mixes using just Algoriddim's djay app, but this one takes the concept of fun to the next level...

The iPhone 4 and 4S will be available with a month-to-month unlimited data option costing $30 a month, with data throttling once you get past your monthly allowance of 2.5 gigabytes.

With this development, Apple's device will soon be officially available on a total of sixteen carriers in the United States, three of them being prepaid telecoms: Boost Mobile (another Sprint property), Cricket Communications and Virgin Mobile...

6 months later, OnLive app is still waiting for approval

In late 2011, OnLive announced that it would be bringing its over-the-air console gaming platform to iOS. It promised that users, wielding its dedicated controller, would have access to a library of tens of thousands of popular games on their iOS devices.

But as cool as it sounded, the magic soon wore off as the app's ETA went from "imminent" to "your guess is as good as ours." It's now been 6 months since the OnLive team submitted its iOS client to the App Store. And it's still awaiting Apple's approval...

Airfoil Speakers Touch back in the App Store

Last month, the folks of Rogue Amoeba made headlines when they announced that their app, Airfoil Speakers Touch, was removed from the App Store. Apple pulled the app, after more than a month of support, without giving the team much of an explanation.

Speculation flew about regarding the mysterious removal, eventually settling on the idea that maybe Apple was looking to implement a major feature from the title in its upcoming iOS 6 release. But, as Rogue Amoeba tells it, that wasn't the case at all...

Analyst: iPhone 5 will have thinner, better cameras

With the LinkedIn privacy scare and Google's 3D maps taking over news today, we've seen little updates concerning Apple's upcoming iPhone. Enter KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who argues in today's note to clients that the next iPhone will use back and front cameras re-engineered with thinness in mind.

And if you're new to iPhoneography, you're probably thinking that a higher-resolution CMOS sensor is also in the cards. Not so fast...

Apple leverages Siri patent to block imports of Galaxy S III to US

Perhaps not unsurprisingly, Apple has asked the court for permission to add Samsung's latest smartphone to its list of devices eligible for a preliminary injunction.

The company is leveraging its two patents to enforce the ban, one already successfully used to stop imports of HTC devices and the other covering unified search and Siri capabilities that Samsung's device replicates with its S-Voice feature that Cupertino feels shamelessly rips off Siri's user interface.

Looks like Samsung may want to re-think its stance that the S III wasn't designed by lawyers...

Sparrow confirms work on iPad app is underway

Sparrow for iPhone, in spite of its shortcomings, has become my default email client on the iPhone.

I can't recall the last time I launched Apple's Mail app as Sparrow for iPhone beats Apple's stock app offering in terms of user friendliness, sleekness, elegance, ease of use and Gmail accounts handling, among other things.

But Sparrow's lack of native iPad interface has been ticking me off as the vast majority of my email management happens on my iPad.

Well, the wait will soon be over as the Sparrow developer just teased a new page confirming that Sparrow for iPad is coming...

LinkedIn privacy scare: 6.5M passwords leak, iOS app scraps meeting notes

Today's a bad, bad day for LinkedIn and a field day for privacy advocates around the world as someone has just managed to leak over 6.5 million hashed and encrypted LinkedIn passwords on a Russian hacker forum.

What are you waiting for, change your LinkedIn password now!

On top of that, the LinkedIn for iOS app, which was recently updated with iPad support, has an opt-in feature that lets you synchronize your iOS calendar to view upcoming events inside the app.

But similar to the unauthorized Path address book access, this feature sends your meeting notes to LinkedIn's servers without you ever knowing it...

Dell: The iPad is too shiny for biz

CEO Michael Dell is known as the man of big words and bad predictions, the most infamous being his advice from fifteen years ago to give the money back to shareholds and shut down Apple. Fortunately, Dell's most recent outrageous quote at least hasn't come out of its CEO's mouth.

Another exec, Dell Australia’s managing director Joe Kreme, gets the credit for claiming that Apple's iPad is no fit for big business because it's too "shiny". He's also gone out on a limb to issue a warning to IT managers, saying issues with iOS devices in enterprise can take up to four days to resolve...

Apple opening retail outlets in Chengdu and Shenzhen where iPads are made

Reuters reports that Apple is planning to open two new stores in Chinese cities Chengdu and Shenzhen, regardless of its ongoing legal spat with China's bankrupt display maker Proview over the rights to use the iPad moniker in the 1.33 billion people market.

Chengdu and Shenzhen are also homes to the world's largest manufacturing sites. It's also where contract manufacturer Foxconn runs production facilities where iOS devices are being made...

Angry Birds Space hits 100 million downloads in 76 days

Wow, just wow. Angry Birds maker Rovio just announced in a tweet that Angry Birds Space, the latest installment in the popular series, has hit the hundred million downloads mark across all platforms.

If that didn't give you a pause, remember that just a little over a month ago the game topped 50 million downloads in the first 35 days since its launch (ten million downloads in the first three days)...
