iPhone is going to Japan

Japanese mobile carrier Softbank Corp. said Wednesday it has a deal with Apple Inc. to sell the iPhone later this year — the first such agreement in Japan for the hit cell phone.

Softbank spokesman Naoki Nakayama said no further details, such as pricing and dates, were available, and he said it's not clear if the deal is exclusive.

According to Christina at TUAW:

Although not detailed in the press release, I expect that the Japanese iPhone will be very different, internally, from its counterparts from other parts of the world. Not only will the phone have to be W-CDMA (GSM is not deployed in Japan, though some other SoftBank phones are dual-band GSM/W-CDMA for international roaming), there may be other locks tying the phone to the carrier.

Apple to launch App Store on Monday

Per the rumor mill, Apple is expected to open its long-awaited App Store at the beginning of the Worldwide Developers' Conference next Monday. A source close to the story cited that the online store will launch and be up and running that day with Steve Jobs giving the keynote address at the event.

A Monday launch of the iTunes App Store would also imply an immediate release of the iPhone 2.0 Firmware which would be much earlier than expected.

Apple in a hurry to sign developers in

iPhone Atlas is reporting that Apple is apparently hurrying to sign up individuals into the exclusive $99 iPhone Developer Program prior to the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco next week, where Apple is expected to present the iPhone 2nd Generation.

iPhone Atlas apparently received info from a developers registered for WWDC who have only received acceptance letters in the past few days, although they had applied to the program a while back.

When Apple first started the program, they allowed only a few developers into the program, sending disconcerting letters that were taken as rejection letters to most applicants. But acceptance increased within the last couple months, and it now appears to be expanding even more.

The new iPhone will have copy/paste

This is a rumor we actually haven't heard about but I am pretty confident that the new version of the iphone will have the copy/paste feature. Why? Well, Apple is pretty much releasing this new phone for business customers, competing directly with blackberry. Apple knows that if they want to gain market shares on business customers, they will have to cater them with features they want (push email, ability to save attachments, and of course, copy/pasting).

New iPhone rumored to be 22% thinner

I reported this morning that their was rumor of a version of the iPhone at $200. Well, another rumor that came from Gizmodo is also saying that the new device will be 22% thinner.

There is also speculation Apple could bow to a cellphone industry practice and offer a subsidized iPhone, an arrangement where AT&T could kick in a couple hundred dollars to make the devices more affordable. AT&T already gives Apple a slice of the monthly service fees it gets from iPhone subscribers.

$200 iPhone? Really?

Kevin Rose of Digg who predicted in 2007 that the iPhone would have a slide out keyboard, a touch screen and two batteries (one for the MP3 player, one for the phone) made a new prediction.

According to Rose, Apple will come up with a $200 iPhone, a cheaper version to gain market shares in the cell phone business.

The second coming of the iPhone

Last year the gadget world was awash with one word, iPhone. Apple who typically made high-end home computer with their iMacs and Macbook laptops they carved out a decent niche for themselves amongst graphic designers and Photoshop professionals the world over. But much like their rivals Microsoft they realised that they needed to diversify and having catered for the desktop computer market and the laptop market they looked to taking on the ultra-portable market with mobile phones.

The first iPhone went on sale in America on June 29th 2007 and thousands flocked to Apple stores in the States to get the latest gadget from Apple. Once the dust settled the nay-sayers chimed in, it turned out that a lot of features that most other mobile phones from companies like Nokia and SonyEricsson were strangely missing in the iPhone. These features included a good quality camera, MMS messaging and 3G data.

Never Be Bored As Long As You Have An iPhone

The iPhone is many different things all rolled into one. This is one cell phone that will always keep you happy and never bored.

How many times have you been traveling somewhere and there is nothing to do but watch the scenery go by You have listened to your music over and over again, you have read your books, and you just want to watch a movie.

But when you are traveling in a car, it's impossible. But that isn't true anymore. If you have the Apple iPhone, you can take your movies and television shows with you wherever you go.

The Apple iPhone has a generous 3.5-inch screen and it lets you enjoy anything that you have rented or purchased from the iTunes store right there on your iPhone, wherever you are.

The iPhone controls work very much like a DVD player remote - you can use them to play, pause, or even view certain chapters.

It's also easy to adjust the volume on your iPhone so that you don't disturb the people around you.

It's hard to believe that Apple has packed so many features into one small device, but the company also knows what people are looking for in their cell phones.

They want to have plenty of options and they want their cell phone to give them a lot of technology right there at their fingertips.

The iPhone not only is a great phone and camera, but it's also a wonderful way to get rid of boredom. With the big selection of movies and television shows on iTunes, you will be able to find something that you want to watch no matter what your tastes are.

How to Watch Videos on your iPhone

1. The first step in watching videos that you already own is to get them on your computer. If it's a DVD, just pop it into your computers DVD-rom drive. Next you will need to get a DVD ripper this will allow you to put the dvd movie into your computer's hard drive. This will take sometime depending on what dvd ripper you have. (If you already have the videos that you want to watch on your iphone on your computer's hard drive go to Step 2)

2. To watch the videos on your iphone you will need to convert the videos you already have to the iphone format. For this you will need an iphone video converter or any other program that converts video files to .mp4 (H.264 encoding) because this the only format of video that the iphone/ipod plays. This will also take a while depending on how big your video file is and how good your iphone/ipod video converter is.

Now before you continue on putting the video files onto your iphone make sure all of them are in the proper iphone format. You do not need to worry about this if you used a video converter that converts videos to iphone format.

3. After you've ripped and converted all the videos you want all that is left to do is to actually put it on your iphone/ipod. This is by far the easiest step and takes the least time because this can be done right from itunes. All you need to do connect your iphone to the computer. Then open up itunes scan the video files into the itunes library and then put the videos files right from itunes to your iphone or ipod video.
