We all know Nomad Goods for their incredibly rugged and high quality Apple focused accessories. They offer everything from rip stop USB C cables to luxurious horween leather iPhone cases. As an outdoor focused organization, they recently launched a new collection of California topographic wallpapers, that are inspired by the terrain in places like Lake Tahoe and Yosemite Valley.
California topographic wallpapers
According to the Nomad Co-Founder and CEO, Noah Dentzel, “we create products to keep the modern nomad charged, protected, and organized on the go. Purposeful design and the requisite materials are at the core of everything we do.” Maintaining that quality in their own hardware design, there is a respect for the natural environment in which many of their customers find themselves. They describe the wallpaper collection as a love letter to California, focusing on areas that shaped the business.
Of note, Santa Barbara is the location of the Nomad HQ. Included last, is an updated version of the Nomad classic black and white topo map they’ve used in their marketing material from the beginning. The new version gives a nod toward the digital age, with its intentionally digitized lines and just-off-white colors.
The location specific topographic wallpapers are large canvases, for two reasons: the key physical locations are included in the top down view and each image can be used on multiple devices without distortion. Each image is larger than 3,000 x 3,000 resolution, affording the space to crop for iPhone, iPad, or desktops, without degrading the image quality.
