OS X El Capitan

Apple on Monday released the eighth OS X El Capitan beta to developers. The new build is available to registered developers via the Updates section of the Mac App Store or through Apple’s Developer Center.

There’s also a new build available to those participating in Apple’s pubic testing program. It’s beta 6, though it’s likely identical to today’s dev release, and you can either find it in the Mac App Store or click here.

Apple announced OS X El Capitan at its developer conference in June. The next major OS update for the Mac platform will feature several performance improvements, as well as a handful of user-facing changes.

Last week, Apple sent out invites to a press conference on September 9, but it’s unknown if it will use the event to release El Capitan. Thus far, the company has only given the vague launch timeframe of “fall.”

  • jolehp

Will you post what has changed and whats new? 🙂

  • Anmol Malhotra

where is iOS 9 beta 6 Apple?!

    • Matheus Lisboa

Probably won’t happen. Only GM now, normally they use theses last weeks to refine the new features and the software stuff of the new devices. So they don’t release betas to prevent leaks

    • Chris Wagers

Man they should have released another beta. There are still some bugs unless they fixed them all and I just don’t know it since no beta 6. I guess we’ll see.

  • Quang

    No GM seed yet?

    • Anmol Malhotra

      Will see in Oct starting.

      • jolehp

        Why so late?

      • Matheus Lisboa

Because osx’s final versions are normally released on October and iOS on September

My download stopped half way through installation. Stuck. I restarted my computer by holding down the power button. When I restarted, I am having huge issues. My backlit keyboard doesn’t light up at all, no battery percentage in menu bar, weather widget is gone in notification center, and all other widgets are messed up not showing anything. Oh, and my laptop keeps getting seriously hot even without apps open. Help for this please? Seriously I’m freaking out….

do a clean install. make sure you have a stable internet connection and a power source when upgrading for future reference. when you half install the software, i guess you only get half the features.

      • japplemusik

Still am experiencing issues. Would installing a previous beta (basically downgrading to an earlier beta that was stable) work?

      • japplemusik

Never mind, tried it and it still didn’t do anything

  • Shane Chang

Can someone say how stable this Beta is on a rate 1-10? I mainly need MS Word to work for school

    • rockdude094

if you’re running office 2011 then stick with os 10.9 or 10.10. I’ve tried 10.11 beta and it’s pretty smooth so I’d say 8 with a few crashes here and there. I don’t think you want to experience a crash while typing an important document, I’d say be safe for now.

Even after the update, launch daemon com.apple.stackshot.plist continues to fail to load. No idea why.

I hate how sounds the shitte and only for that i willing to migrate to windows the day the apple came up with stupid names like loly pop or ice vanilla or shitte like that is coming that is telling me that Apple is runing for jackass

    • Damian

Chill naming is not a reason to jump to another OS
