Deadline app

Want to know the exact day you’ll die? There is an app for that!

Deadline is an application that was recently released that aims at predicting the exact date you will die. After giving it access to your health and fitness data by allowing it to tap into the Health app. Alternatively, if like me you barely have any data in the Health app, you can also answer a few simple questions about your sleeping habits, your stress level, your exercise routine, etc, that will help Deadline predict the day you’ll die more accurately.

But how does it work?

According to the developer, the app uses algorithms used by insurance companies to calculate life expectancy. If there is a bit of actual science involved, it still appears to be highly unreliable.

As French blog notes, maybe the point of this app isn’t necessarily to tell you when you will die, but to motivate you to be more healthy and try to push back that dreaded deadline, as explained in the app description.

To keep you in check, there is even a Notification Widget available, so you can have a quick peek almost instantly at your expiration date, you know, as an extra source of motivation to maybe not stuff yourself this Holiday season.

The app is currently averaging 5 star reviews, with this hilarious review taking the crown:

The good news is, I have about 53 years and 16 days ahead of me. The bad news is, I might get hit by a truck in an hour.

Deadline is available in the App Store for $0.99.

Dont go out of your house Sebastien Sir for 1 hour! We love you 😀 🙂
One Question : Will this work with iPhone 4s?

    • Thanks for your concern. I am currently wearing a helmet and don’t plan to get out for another 54 minutes.

I’m not sure if the app works on iPhone 4. I guess you can try downloading it, and if it’s not compatible, it will let you know.

I hope these calculations are way off, because I’m healthy and active but it still predicts that I’ll die at age 79. That’s practically young these days. Yikes, depressing!

    • bigkev943

the avg american person lives 71-79 years of age so you are at the higher end live longer google life expectancy by countries.

      • Kristen

Average life expectancy rates can be skewed by infant mortality, or at least that was my understanding. Corrections welcome.

    This is just straight spooky.

I remember an app a while ago called “iDie” it never got updated past iOS 4/5, but it did the exact same thing, I still have it on my old 3G.
