iTunes 11 (Albums)

Apple has released an update for iTunes this afternoon, bringing the software to version 11.1.5. Don’t get too excited though, it appears to just be a maintenance release with only a handful of improvements.

Those improvements include a fix for a problem that may have been causing iTunes to quit unexpectedly when a device is connected, as well as better compatibility with iBooks for users on OS X Mavericks…

Here’s the tiny change log:

- This update fixes a problem that may cause iTunes to quit unexpectedly when a device is connected and improves compatibility with iBooks for Mac on OS X Mavericks.

Folks looking to grab the latest version of iTunes can find it either via the Mac App Store’s ‘Updates’ tab (unsurprisingly, the update comes in at just 81.4MB), or you can find a direct link on our Downloads page.

I miss the ibooks section, it’s such a hassle having to open the Ibooks app, then have drag unto desktop, and then iTunes. So exhausting.

    • Jonathan

Yeah. It’s also very exhausting to have to hunt your own food, drink muddy, dirty water, and wear rags.
      Get my point?

not necessarily… like sheldon cooper said : we can use tools…
besides, apple already put the ibooks in the itunes before, its so silly to pull it out

Hopefully when they release iphone 6 they redo iTunes. It’s in dire need of a facelift as well as a complete backend over haul. Still seems very chunky overall.

      +1

I store my iTunes library on a smb share on my network and the amount of times that iTunes crashes is just ridiculous…

My current iTunes version is not downloading updates (app updates). I used to keep all my apps in PC as a backup. The last iTunes screwed everything coz it wont download app updates no matter how fast the internet is.
Hopefully this update will fix my problem or I have to do a clean install!

Itunes is a useless application. It can’t play mp3s , or any music, from network storage. All serious collections are on network storage.
