iOS 7.1 beta 3 evasi0n7

With today’s release of iOS 7.1 beta 3, many people feared that exploits used in the evasi0n7 jailbreak would be patched. As it appears, and even though evasi0n7 cannot jailbreak iOS 7.1 beta 3 as is, Apple didn’t patch evasi0n7.

Although official members of the evad3rs still have to talk about it, the news has been confirmed by hacker iH8sn0w in a recent tweet

From what we hear, there is even an unofficial updated version of evasi0n7 making the rounds online, apparently developed by a team of Russian hackers. We don’t really know much more at this time, but I believe Jeff is currently trying out this unsanctioned version of evasi0n7 on a test device. You may want to check back iDB later for more details on that.

Even though iOS 7.1 beta 3 doesn’t patch evasi0n7, it’s hard to believe that the software will make it out to the general public in this state. As always, time will tell.

are you aware, that you can run a 7.1 beta (modify it to NOT expire), AND keep your jailbreak?… (0_o)

Remove the spaced in the link 🙂

    • RarestName

I am, actually. The iOS 7.1 beta was actually more stable for me.

  • Andrea Anderson

so does this mean if i have 7.0.4 jailbroken i can UPDATE to 7.1.3 without losing anything?

    • GuiyeC

I don’t think you can update at all even to beta 1 or 2 without losing your jailbreak, thus all your tweaks.

And you should not update if you are not a developer or have your device registered by one.

  • Nestor Hernandez Hdz

:'( es mejor esta version que la 7.0.4

  • Brandon Pereira

Don’t get me wrong I love my jailbreak… but they should have waited till 7.1

    • GuiyeC

Yeah but, by the time they release 7.1 ( I think rumors say around march?) it will be almost iOS 8 keynote time.
So they can’t keep waiting for the next release.

      • Brandon Pereira

The x.1 updates are always tons of bug fixes. In the past they’ve always waited till x.1 updates. Now we get stuck with bugs on our phones.

      • Andy

All software have bugs though. It’s not like the final 7.1 will be bug free.

      • GuiyeC

I’m not saying it doesn’t add bug fixes, but they released it in december, that’s four months before march and the possible release of iOS 7.1.
In march we will be 3 months away from the possible keynote where Apple will introduce iOS 8 to the world. Should they then wait for the keynote?
What if iOS 8 is amazing and worth waiting? Should they wait until september?
And then again, should they wait until iOS 8.1 is released?
It’s just too difficult to judge, I bet they had reasons, I think they said if they didn’t release it someone else was going to, and blowing more important bugs.
Maybe their plan was to wait until 7.1.
I think we should be happy with the jailbreak we have and hope it will work on iOS 7.1.

My 7.0.4 JB’n 5S is running like a finely tuned formula 1 machine. Not 1 glitch, not 1 crash, not 1 fail and I proly have 15 tweaks installed. So, whatev…

      • Zod

my old iPhone 4 is running very smooth with JB on iOS 7.0.4 as well

      • Mustang5Oh

Same here. JB > new round UI elements.

      • 4p0c4lyps3

Yup, infinitely greater. Cldnt b happier.

      • chumawumba

iOS 8 Keynote time is June. Thats 3 months away.

      • GuiyeC

So was March when they released the jailbreak.
And so will be September, likely iOS 8 release, when they introduce iOS 8…

      • Zod

I’m counting on iOS 8 to be the much better tuned version of iOS 7

    • Nate McKelvie

I say just be happy that we have iOS 7 jailbroken, and if 7.1 stops the jailbreak oh well we can wait till 8.0, 7.1 won’t be so new and amazing that it’s worth not having a jb til then. I’m on 7.0.4 jb and my phones running like a charm!

    • I don’t wanna wait till 7.1

  • Marly Marl

Please help is get past Activation Lock… Alot of us out there have bought second hand iphones and cant reach the owners.

    • chumawumba

      *stolen phones

    • ::/DeltaStylez::

      You probably screwed ..

    • Jonathan

      Dude, there is youtube.

    • Nate McKelvie

Activation lock has nothing to do with second hand iPhone, it’s because only app developers with an developers account are supposed to install the beta, therefor it’s locked from activating for non developers. Although I know many people that are not developers that are plenty able to use betas and do use betas, if you don’t know how to bypass the activation lock, maybe you should stay away from the beta

      • iOS 7 came with Activation Lock to prevent stolen iOS devices from being used without permission from the rightful (original owner). This is not just for beta firmwares.

      • Nate McKelvie

Oh yeah, I know that, but since this post was about the beta of ios7.1 I just assumed that’s what he meant. If he didn’t then I take back my comment lol

    • Jonathan

If you actually found it. Read the Serial Number on the back, call Apple and get all info possible. Then contact them, or Apple will.

  • Ben

My 7.0.4 is good. Also good it doesn’t patch the jailbreak although.

  • DanielMaciasJr

Anyone know if Software Update Killer is compatible with an iPhone 5s?.

  • Luis Perez

I feel rush to buy my ipad mini now :p

  • Gavin Friel

A little unrelated but I really like this Jailbreak and the tweaks out now! I used SSH to change my Cydia icon today and it was like “oh hey pretty Cydia Icon, stop hiding in that folder, come join the party”. Generally have an obsession with my iPhone and iPad again!

  • Prasoon Singh

No need for update when you got your best friend jailbreak.

  • Adan

How would Apple know the exploits to patch? They are not public domain, right?

    • They probably download evasi0n and then watch what it does. From there they can probably determine what exploits are used, and how to patch it up.

      • Adan

        Thanks. Makes sense.

  • Everythingapplespro

Anyone can change version to support beta 3, I wouldn’t call them “Russian hackers”

    • Lance Baker

  • Stefano ‘Graziani’ Polo

is it possible that Apple doesn’t care about patching these jailbreaks anymore? I’m not suggesting that they don’t but maybe they just don’t have it as a high priority like they use to

    • Jared Steffen

Apple boast being very secure for users a jailbreak helps them to patch and make iOS better and safer fir those who like it as us so I think it is still a priority

    • ikr. apple be like “you want jb? fine”

  • Royce Otero

    What does iOS 7.1 brings?

    • Overall, iOS 7.1 brings some enhancements to the UI, as well as additions to Accessibilities. Also, bug fixes.

      • TDD140

As well as very welcome speed improvements!

  • n00b7

kind of a n00b question, but… is it good to jailbreak ios7 on iphone 5. the only reason im wondering is because im still trying to piece together if the jailbreak is buggy, lag on phone in stock apps, etc…??????

    • Giovanni Amadei

that is iOS 7. iOS 7 is lagging because is shit, iOS 7.1 is better even if not like iOS 6

  • GuiyeC

I’ve managed to successfully jailbreak beta 3, I found the modified version and it works, (at least for me, iPhone 5).

I’ve uploaded it to my web, so no ads, no waits, and I won’t take it down:
codegy “dot” com “slash” jailbreak “slash” evasi0n “dot” zip

I hope this is useful for somebody 🙂

  • Jerry

They never patch the jailbreak on the betas. The final release always does tho.

  • J™

Russian hackers hacking the evad3r’s hacking tool…. interesting…

  • Fettabob

i think apple wont be able to fix the jailbreak in 7.1. thats why they published the jailbreak sooner than final 7.1 release. i assume they know they found a big bug that cant be patched so fast when a beta is already released.

  • nodeveloper

Would be fantastic if someone wants to make my idevice a developer too
