Wallpapers of the week: winter wallpaper pack

Solfield Winter Wallpaper II Pack splash

In the United States, we finished celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend. After much feasting and football, I believe it is finally okay to accept winter is creeping upon us. Ceaseless Christmas music will be played and, to coordinate, all of my devices will enjoy frigidly cold winter wallpapers. There is something refreshing about viewing a calming snow scene or frosted nature images.

In that light, let this be the first, of potentially many winterized wallpapers. Anything that looks cold will be considered a winter wallpaper. Considering the Wallpapers of the Week section is customized by our readers, please help the winter wonderland by submitting your frigid images. Details for submission is just past the fold, and the cold…

Wallpapers

Bringing things full circle, the featured artist today is @Solefield who was our first featured artist, when the post series began this summer. Solefield provides a full winter offering to begin our push into the colder months. I noticed many of you are concerned lack of iPad images offered in the wallpaper section, but today, fear not. There are four individual images posted below for desktop, iPad, and iPhone. For the record, these iOS device wallpapers are parallax friendly.

To keep track of Solefield’s photographs, visit her personal website, Deviant Art gallery, and say “hi” via Twitter by following @Solefield.

Downloading

Getting these lovely photograph wallpapers on your device is simple. From your device, tap the corresponding device link below the desired image. Once the full resolution loads, tap hold, then save a copy to the Camera Roll. Access the image from either the Photo.app or Settings.app/Wallpapers. The image is larger than the device to provide room for parallax effects. From a desktop, click the corresponding resolution and let it load. For an iOS device, move the downloaded image to the iTunes sync folder.

Submissions

Like always, I thank you for submitting your images. I love going through the submissions and choosing which ones to highlight each week. As you can see, there is no specific type or category of wallpaper we are looking to include. Photographs, abstracts, graphic designs, everything is considered. Getting your images featured is a quick email or tweet away. Please submit at least two images that are formatted for an iOS device. Embed the images in an email to me, jim@idownloadblog.com, or catch me on Twitter @jim_gresham to submit your pictures or strike up a conversation.

What do you guys think about this complete wallpaper pack? Loving the frosty trend?
