Movember2011_PrimaryLogo_BLK1

‘Tis the season,” they say, but not yet the season for Christmas. The month prior to December is host to many wonderful things in life, most notably, Thanksgiving for Americans, Fall leaves, cold nights, and Starbucks never ending marketing blitz for the Pumpkin Spice Latte. As a man, or woman I suppose, November is also heralded as Movember, a month to grow a mustache to help support awareness for men’s health issues.

Men the world ’round can participate by growing facial hair, particularly a mustache. If you haven’t started growing your stache, only three days passed, get busy. To celebrate the manly month of Movember, today’s post includes mustached wallpapers for the occasion…

Wallpapers

Mustaches are classy and timeless. They withstood the age of time. From the early classy cavemen, to swash buckling pirates, to presidents and kings, the mustache marks a certain dignity and masculine grace. Consequently, black and white simplistic mustaches with monocles and top hats seem like the perfect way to enjoy the season.

Matt Barker is the featured artist who creates wallpapers and icon mock ups, which are posted on his Tumblr page. Below are simple black and white renditions of the featured wallpaper, but if you are looking for a specific color, feel free to contact him via email with requests.

Who is growing a stache?

  • David Gitman

I know its not releated but listen guys…I have an iPhone 4 and next week I can upgrade my phone. should I buy 5S or wait for 6? 🙂

    • Jeff Ramirez

If you’ve come this far with the iPhone 4 and it’s still works for you, I’d wait. I personally never get the S versions. It’s not worth the upgrade IMO.
The iPhone 4 is not obsolete yet, so just wait.

      • David Gitman

hmm… I am not a person of bigger screens 😛

      • Decio Arruda

I upgraded last month and it is night and day. Upgrade is the way to go.

      • David Gitman

cool 😀 I am going to update then 😀

      • Snailpo

Yeah i would upgrade as well. iPhone 4s they fixed a lot of the lag issue from the 4. So when you upgrade to the 5s, you will see such an improvement.

    • leart

get the 5s man right NOW, enjoy the new technology if you can afford it, iphone 4 its still good but slow now

      • David Gitman

thank you very much ! I can afford it 😀

    • Alex Marwaha

Agreed. Get the 5s it’s for your own good. It’s an amazing piece of technology.

      • David Gitman

        thank you!

    • Sketch

Don’t listen to the guys above. Don’t get the 5s. Think about it. In just 1 year you can get iPhone 6. I also have an iPhone 4 the contract finished in back in June. iPhone 4 is still good for another year.

      • Alex Marwaha

#1 we have no idea what the 6 might be like. Better to play it “safe” and get a 5s. It has such good features and is much better compared to a 4. Get the 5s now

      • Mike

You’re right. We have no idea what the iPhone 6 might be. What we do know is that its going to be better than its predecessor, no? If you get the 5S now, next year you’re going to regret not waiting. The leaks were very accurate not only last year but this year as well. Like Jeff above is saying, S upgrades are not worth it.

      • Alex Marwaha

Listen mike. I agree that the 6 will obviously be better than its predecessor, but why wait one year? Fingerprint sensor, classy design, a7 and m7… Right now you can’t get Better than this. Compared to a 4, this is totally worth it.

      • Manuel Molina

The iPhone 4 has better battery life, still looks more better than the 5 and 5S, and he can jailbreak for anything he needs to compensate for what features Apple didn’t put in iOS 7 for iPhone 4 users. Best be wise and be patience. Hasty choices makes regretful decisions.

      • Σαλαη αββας

I see now what kind of iPhone users you are …. The 4 looks better than the 5 ! – you should replace joney ive –

the 4 is already slow , a jb will make it mor buggy !

      • Alex Marwaha

You are completely wrong. Thsts all I have to say.

      • Palmer Paul

How is he wrong? The iPhone 4 does have better battery life (I can confirm because I have an iP4), is as equally as aesthetically pleasing as the 5s, and is currently jailbreakable on iOS 7 (using opensn0w).

      • Alex Marwaha

Equally pleasing? Not a chance. iOS 7 on an iphone 4 is just crappy.

      • Palmer Paul

From my understanding, Manuel Molina meant physically (as in the hardware, not the software) pleasing. And because its jailbreakable, you can make iOS 7 look a lot better than it does on an iPhone 5s, while also adding some extra functionality.

      • Jarryd Richards

Or you could wait until the iPhone 6 is unveiled and if you don’t like it the 5s will be $100 cheaper.

      • Quang

Then why dont you just wait for iPhone 7? Its just 1 year more
Oh wait…iPhone 8? just another 1 year more
        iPhone 9? why not???
Sugesstion: Just buy when you want. Don’t wait cause technology change every month.

      • Σαλαη αββας

I have to thank you for this

      • Erdian

Wrong. iPhone 7 is 3 years away. iPhone 8 is 5 and iPhone 9 is 7 years off compared to right now. He will regret getting the 5s and not having a little extra patience.

      • Quang

I just meant the next generation iPhone.
        Assume Apple will go iPhone 5S – 6 – 7 – 8 – 9…
Who knows Apple will keep the S forever?

iPhone 5S was released recently. Thats not “a little extra patience.” It’s like 1 year away. So he will begin new cycle when he buy iPhone 5S.
If it was 3 months away, so I would suggest to wait.

    • Σαλαη αββας

The s models are always better because the other models come with a whole new design and a whole new engineering that’s way they come with some problems and when apple releases the s model they fix that problems and add some new features ,… So you better go with the 5s or wait for the 6s

      • David Gitman

        thank you :DD

    • Manuel Molina

I’d say wait unless you want LTE. If you have a fast carrier like T-Mobile or AT&T for 3G, I’d stay with the iPhone 4 and wait until the iPhone 6 or whatever they decide to call it. You don’t want to get the 5S and see the new one, it’s 99-times better, and then be locked in another 2-year contact.

      • Σαλαη αββας

He can get it unlocked !

      • Manuel Molina

After he fulfills the two-year contact, gets a Verizon model or plans to go the T-Mobile route. If it’s not the Verizon route, he has to wait for the carrier to do it or pay a ton of money for no reason.

I remember the days you had to wait for a jailbreak to acquire an unlock. My, how times have changed.

      • Σαλαη αββας

Jailbreak was a software unlock , once you update – it’s locked again –

      • David Gitman

thanks for reply but my state dont support LTE lol

      • Manuel Molina

Then just keep your phone. Wait until the 6 comes out. By then, you’ll probably be updated with LTE.

    • Quang

Just buy the iPhone 5S if you like it.
      Why wait?
Techonology? then iPhone 7 will have better techonology. Techonology will never stop and wait for you…so you should not stop and wait for it.
Design? If you love iPhone 6 design, you can buy the iPhone 6S later (if you have contract).

      • Palmer Paul

Its about cycles though. We can all agree that an “X” iPhone brings more features than an “Xs” iPhone. Therefore, by getting on the “Xs” cycle (as it is released every two years and most contracts last two years), you are theoretically getting 1 year old hardware with a few optimizations and a few more features. For this reason, it is better to be on the “X” cycle, which will give you the biggest upgrade for the money you pay for the phone.

      • Quang

        I don’t think so.

Both cycles give yo the same benefit.

X cycle (iPhone 3-4-5), you get new design, new technology.

Xs cycle (3GS-4S-5S), new design, new technology, too.

“you are theoretically getting 1 year old hardware with a few optimizations and a few more features.” I think you mean the X-Xs cycle (iPhone 4 to 4S, and 5 to 5S).

Also noted that Apple usually give the Xs device new technology and feature (Siri on iPhone 4S and Touch ID on iPhone 5S). In contrast, the X models only change in design vs the previous models.

iPhone 5S has many changes vs iPhone 5. For example, A7 chip, Touch ID, 1.5micro pixels, f/2.2, True tone flash, slow motion, M7 motion processor, etc.

In my opinion, because you (and many people) see the Xs model has the same design as X model, you think there is no change in it. However, the changes from 5 to 5S is just the same as you go from 4S to 5.

Actually, this is psychology aspect. Because you see there is no change in design of Xs model, you believe there is no or little change in Xs too; therefore, your brain will tent to ignore changes in the Xs model. Therefore you see the Xs is less valuable.
For example, assume you believe women drive safer than men. Therefore, when you see a man who drive recklessly, your brain will record it as Man: Drive recklessly, but when you see man who drive carefully, you will just ignore/forget it. In contrast, when you see a woman who drive carefully, your brain will record it as Woman: Drive carefully, but you will forget woman who drive recklessly. After years, you only remember women as driving safely and men drive recklessly.

      • Σαλαη αββας

Blah blah blah …. But I agree with you

    • TheBoi23

I say you give me that 4 and wait for the 6, all of 5S plus some!

      • Ali

If he gives his iPhone 4 to you, what will he use till the iPhone 6 comes out?

    • LAGISSUEZ

I just got the 5c, coming from the 4. I was gonna wait but I was able to get the 5c for free after trade in at Walmart. I would have waited but ios7 was too slow for me on the 4 so I saw the walmart deal and said “well, in two years I can get the 6s so for now I’ll have the 5 which will hold me over” I’m happy with that choice but if you can wait, I would.

      • Palmer Paul

You could have sold an iPhone 4 (8GB) in lightly used condition for a minimum of $200 on eBay. With that money you could have bought an iPhone 5s for net zero (with a two year contract).

      • LAGISSUEZ

Honestly mine was probably worth 150 but no one was even buying them for 120 for mint condition ones on Craigslist. It was just too easy with the walmart trade. Got 115 for a 3 year old phone, not bad!

    • Mohamed Hassabo

I’m in the exact same situation as you. I have an iPhone 4 and I can upgrade if I want to. When I looked closely at the 5s I saw that there weren’t that many new features compared to the 5, I wouldn’t call the fingerprint sensor a ‘killer feature’. S upgrades aren’t worth it really, that’s why I’ve decided I’m going to wait for the iPhone 6, hopefully it’ll turn out to be a blockbuster phone as it’s rumored.

    • Palmer Paul

I would wait. I have an iPhone 4 and my contract will be up in 15 months, at which point I’ll probably wait for the 6s to come out and then buy the 6 for $100 (on a two year contract). You probably don’t want to wait this long though…

BTW I love how you thank everyone who replies to your post…very polite 🙂

    • blastingbigairs

I agree with Jeff Ramirez, but you may really like the LTE speeds of the 5 series. It’s does make a huge difference if its available in your area. It blows away my home WiFi!

    • ARUIZMART

Wait for iPhone 6, I have the iPhone 5, but I’m gonna get an iPad mini with retina instead 5s.

    • Yunsar

Tell me, how long do you get to keep the phone before upgrading?

    • Ishaan Malhotra

I’d wait. Patience has its reward. Your i4 will be able to last a year!!

  • Alex

Hey I know this is off topic but my iPhone 5s has weird battery issues. I’ve already calibrated it. This one time I was charging it, it was 81% I disconnected it then I reconnected it and it was 83%? Yesterday my phone said 100% then I disconnected it and it was 98%. It’s getting really annoying. What should I do to fix it? Should I recalibrate it? Or restore?

    • omrishtam

      are you on 7.0.3?

      • Alex

        Yep I’m on 7.0.3

      • omrishtam

than that’s probably the issue. i am having battery drain too since i updated to 7.0.3 also on iphone 5s :/

    • Palmer Paul

That doesn’t sound major enough to be considered an issue…a 2% miscalculation is…well a miscalculation, and is not a major problem to be worried about.

  • thetomthebomb

    Pringles!!

  • Palmer Paul

    New homepage layout?

    • ✪ aidan harris ✪

I think they’ve just started using the same homepage as the mobile layout for the tablet but the same layout as they’ve always used for actual articles…

      • Σαλαη αββας

        It’s fixed now , thank god !

      • Palmer Paul

Yep…looks like someone messed up and made the mobile homepage the desktop homepage as well. At least its fixed now!

    • Σαλαη αββας

That’s what’s happening with me , wtf it looks like the mobile version stretched out for the iPad screen

  • Guest

  • n0ahcruz3

In other news head of iOS engineering Henri Lamiraux has left the company after 23 yrs.

  • Pablo

So…this makes up the third consecutive week I came here and found nothing interesting, I think this section was better when it started, hopefully it gets better now…also iDB in general is lacking of news recently, maybe because it’s the limbo between “every new idevice has been released” and “there is no jailbreak yet”

    • Kurt

We need more articles from Zibreg. He used to be more active.

  • i will download it later thx for this sharing

  • Hugh Jassol

LISTEN GUYS!!!! Let’s stay on topic here…
