LA hosts first Mobile Arts Festival for iOS-created content

This is kind of cool: the first ever Los Angeles Mobile Arts Festival is going on right now, in Santa Monica, California. Hosted by iPhoneArt.com and the Santa Monica Art Studios, the festival spotlights art created explicitly with iOS devices.

The event is like one big digital art gallery, featuring iPhoneography, artwork and more. That art on the car in the above image? Made on an iPad…

“iPhoneArt.com and the Santa Monica Art Studios presents the LA Mobile Arts Festival. Los Angeles celebrates pioneers of iPhoneography and the underground mobile arts movement with nine days of interactive digital art—iPhone imagery, sound- and video-based works, sculptural and performance art installations at the historic Santa Monica airplane hanger turned cutting-edge arts community.”

The festival will be going on all week, through the 25th. So if you’re in the Santa Monica area, it definitely looks like it’s worth checking out.

And for you up-and-coming artists, remember to check out our ongoing iPhoneography series with professional photographer Justin Balog.

What do you think, cool, not-so-cool?
