We told you recently that those Angry Birds were going to make their way into space, and today Rovio released the new game for iOS gamers.

Angry Birds Space is pretty much what you would expect: Angry birds trying to finish those pesky pigs off, but with a distinctly starry flavour.

Available for both the iPhone/iPod touch and the iPad, Angry Birds Space takes to the skies, with planets and their own gravitational pull adding something very different to the tried and tested Angry Birds formula that has already made Rovio’s games extremely popular across a range of devices. From what we’ve seen, this space-flavored version will be just as popular…

“After a giant claw kidnaps their eggs, the Angry Birds chase it into a wormhole and find themselves floating in a strange new galaxy โ€“ surrounded by space pigs! Luckily the Angry Birds have super powers of their own.”

Gamers will be treated to 60 levels, with the usual additions set to come by the way of updates moving forward. New birds and their new superpowers are also on the agenda, giving gamers something even more unique than the plethora of Angry Birds games they have already been playing.

Angry Birds Space will set gamers back $0.99 on the iPhone and iPod touch, while Angry Birds Space HD is available for $2.99. Both versions are in the App Store right now!

Have you been enjoying some anti-grav-powered bird flinging?

  • Wow I was one of the many people who grew tired of Angry Birds, this is awesome, I love the new physics and gravity controls, it looks gorgeous on the new iPad too. Great job Rovio!

When you’ve played 1 you’ve played them all, how long are Rovio going to keep milking this dead beast, more to the point, how long are saps going to keep paying for the same game just with a different background, talk about boring.

God bless piracy because after buying the first Angry Birds i’m fucked if i’m going to pay them anymore money for the same thing over and over.

    • Dan

I’d agree with you for the first three games, but this one actually introduces new mechanics so it’s pretty fun

  • nah…i never liked this kind of games..there is no fun in it

  • best
all 4 of em, forget the nay-sayers..

  • A

I don’t like the fact that they locked most of the game and require in-app purchases to advance in the game. Boo Rovio!!!!

  • Love it! The gravity fields are pretty cool!

  • Okey, so I got Angry Birds Space today and Rovio said that it will sport real physics from space. Then how come when you hit an object and it moves (Outside of orbit) it slows down to a halt? In space there is no air, which means no drag. Therefor objects should not slow down! Do your homework Rovio!

    • So what? We enjoyed the game. We dont are about that theory of yours. The game still cool.

      • Just saying! If Rovio promises real psychics then they should keep it! Also use proper grammar! Hard to understand you are!

      • PS: It’s not a theory, it’s fact. Maybe you should take up Astrophysics like me? You’ll understand…

      • Geek..

      • @Shali That’s what you say but honestly I could not give a shit! I know for a fact I am not a geek (Maybe smart [Obviously smarter than you bumb fuck]) as I actually have friends however I’m not so sure about you. You people skills seem to lack when it comes to talking to someone in a polite manor. PS I’m 14, I know my grammer, I really enjoy astrophysics and Astronamy and I develop programs for PC and Mac and probably earn more than you do. Now please leave me alone as I think I’ve made my point quite clear. YOUR A FUCKING RETARD WHO LIKES TO INSULT PEOPLE THAT ARE QUITE SIMPLY BETTER THAN HIM. Enjoy the rest of your day sir ๐Ÿ™‚
