Spirit iOS 4 Jailbreak Release Imminent

Comex to Release Spirit iOS 4 Soon

Comex gave some good news today on Twitter when he confirmed that he was not going to wait for iOS 4.1 to release an updated version to Spirit, the jailbreak tool that will work with iOS 4 and iOS 4.0.1.

The right thing to do would be to save your SHSH blobs with Firmware Umbrella to insure you can always downgrade to a previous iOS in the future. It is the right thing to do, but it is certainly not mandatory.

With PlanetBeing and MuscleNerd being almost done on their iPhone 4 unlock, it now makes sense to release Spirit.

    I was just reading up on it..I was trying to figure out how to install apps without jailbreak but no luck :( once this jailbreak comes out everyone , even people who dunno bout iPhones will hear about it!! Can’t wait!!!! Doing awesome job dev team;)

    I hope this means tonight! I had to restore my 3GS a few days ago and I didn’t have my blobs saved so now I’m stuck at 4.0.1 Great job comex

    Maybe someone can help me out. I know I have to save my shsh blobs (im on 4.0)

    “However, you can save your 4.0.1 SHSH for those devices and still be safe as @comex has said:
    “SHSH blobs for 4.0.1 or 4.0 are fine; AFAIK there are no substantive differences except the bars”"

    But i did run it and it said

    So my question is am I good?
    Do I need to update to 4.01 in order to really have a good save?

    Okay comex and musclenerd are beastly with this jailbreak I been checking on my iPhone 4 everyday o can’t wait till yal release the new spirit it’s hard to get used to not have a phone jailbroke it sucks I would like to say I just got finish saving my shsh blob for 4.0.1 iv study on iPhones for about a year if yal need any help with coming up with new jailbreak I’m right here thanks yal rock

    Does any one knows where I can save my shsh blobs, I have an iPhone 4 on 4.0 but I’m not sure what I have to do… Does that means I have to save shsh blobs in order to jailbreak my iPhone 4 or i don’t really have to do this?     don’t worry when the spirit is out you will have to upgread to 4.0+ to use it. Aslong as it says saved they are saved. Iam still on 3.1.3 and I got 4.0 4.0.1 saved on cydia

    Wow this is nice thanx for everyone trying to make a jailbreak work :) I’m currently on iPod touch 2nd gen (MC Model) tethered with sn0wbreeze and ibooty and I’m happy with it but then ppl think that when apple release a firmware they demand that the dev team and comex release a jailbreak on the same day. But it doesn’t work like that but they release it when they can and I’m happy :) :) :) with anything I get lol

    Shsh blobs are basically lik a signature apple signs on a specific device for specific firmware for upgrade or downgrade need this signature everytime but what cydia and umberella do is they forge this signature so itunes thinks its got it signed from apple but it really has it signed frm cydi

    @david you should be concerned because appl only signs firmware for limited time and thts the only time u hav to forge the signature and you need signature for dwngrade so if you jailbreak ever messes up you can restore a jailbreakable firmwAre instead of having to upgrade to newest the shsh you hav saved will be the only means tht allow you to restore to older firmware versions

    It is but 4.0 n 4.0.1 r not diff so u can upgrade to 4.0.1 n save shsh for tht n spirit wrks for it too

    Hi I just go my iPhone 4 on 29th of last month and I already saved my shsh blobs of the 4.0 firmware. My question is can I update to 4.0.1 and still save my shsh blobs and jailbreak when the time comes or should I stay on 4.0 and wait for the jailbreak to come out.
