An often violent experience, the show has reached acclaim and as of November 2021, it has become the most watched program in 94 countries. A staggering 1.65 billion viewing hours are logged with the series across 142 million Netflix member households, according to statistics amassed by Wikipedia. Rotten Tomatoes has the series at 94%, with critics siting the series’ “unflinching brutality is not for the faint of heart, but sharp social commentary and surprisingly tender core will keep viewers glued to the screen.”
