Mophie announces new, thinner Juice Pack Air for iPhone 5

Fans of Mophie’s popular Juice Pack Air line will be happy to hear that the company has just announced a new, thinner model for Apple’s latest handset. This is the first significant update to the line in two years.

Aside from the prestige of its highly-regarded creators, the major selling point for the new Air is its size—it’s both thinner and lighter than its predecessor, measuring in at just 0.63-inches thick…

This isn’t Mophie’s first run at an iPhone 5 case. Earlier this year it introduced the Helium Juice Pack, which is fairly similar to the Air in size, though the Air is a hair bulkier at 2.60in x 5.54in x 0.63in and 2.68 oz.

But that extra bulk is put to good use, as the Air comes with a bigger battery than the Helium—1500mAh vs. 1700mAh—meaning longer up-time. Mophie says its new case should double your handset’s battery life.

Interested? The new Mophie Juice Pack Air for the iPhone 5 is available for purchase on Mophie’s website for $99. It comes in 3 colors, red, white and black, and starts shipping within the next week or so.

Do you plan on grabbing a new Juice Pack Air?

When it comes to extending battery life I really wouldn’t mind the size of it…

Replaceable batteries are for idiots! Steve jobs doesn’t want us to replace the batteries than neither do I. Damn idiots!!!!

Can you believe this guy is (or pretends to be) in a university? Damn… future of mankind looks pretty bleak…

it looks like you two don’t understand satire very well. he was saying (or writing) the opposite of what he actually meant (and also mocking Jobs’s arrogance and close-mindedness about following industry standards)
oh well, it’s an art form, and not for everyone.

      • Hyr3m

I had considered that but with the amount of retarded comments I read on this blog I have a huge apriori about people’s intentions. Also, the lack of intonation (it is text after all) doesn’t always help ^^

I had a Mophie case for my iPhone 4 and 4S, and loved it. I will definitely be getting one for my iPhone 5.

Seems fine and would love it for that price. Why wouldn’t they use the lightning connector for charging instead? Cant dock it. As in the millions of cables I got. Mophie, remember the iPod integration’s magic!

My iPhone 5 has had really good battery life compared to my 3GS.
With my 3GS I would be at around 50% at the end of a work day, with my 5 I am at 75%.
I have a battery pack for my 3gs, but don’t think I need one for my 5.

    • Hyr3m

If you’re battery is at 75% at the end of the day that means you probably don’t need an iPhone in the first place… Get a dumbphone if you’re not going to use it…

      • blu

What an ignorant comment. In all truthfulness, almost no one needs an iPhone.
I was just giving my normal use at WORK where I am WORKING, not playing on my phone all day. It is a good comparison between my old 3GS and the 5 since it is pretty much identical usage. After 12 hrs of light usage (checking e-mail a few times a day, 3-4 phone calls, a few texts, maybe 30 minutes of netflix at lunch (which can’t be done on a dumb phone)) my iPhone 5 does not need a battery pack.
Yes i drain my phone to 10% sometimes when I am playing on it or if my kids are watching movies on it on trips, but that is not the norm.

In the future, please keep your worthless opinions to yourself as to who needs an iPhone.

        Whoa. #trollingDenied

      • Hyr3m

Yet he still agreed with me even while calling my comment ignorant : “almost no one needs an iPhone”. Then he contradicts himself : “keep your worthless opinions to yourself as to who needs an iPhone”.

Is he trolling himself ? That’s not #trollingDenied . It’s more #trollingOverruled . As in “I’ll see your troll and raise you two more”.

        Well… I fold xD
