There are now several ways to jailbreak your iPhone running iOS 4.3.2. RedSn0w, PwnageTool, and Sn0wBreeze will all jailbreak the iPhone on 4.3.2.

4.3.2 hasn’t been out for that long, but i0n1c’s untethered exploit has already been implemented into three of the most popular jailbreak tools.

We have the Dev Team, i0n1c, and iH8Sn0w to thank for pushing out untethered jailbreaks for iOS 4.3.2 so quickly.

How to Jailbreak iOS 4.3.2

RedSn0w will jailbreak your iPhone on both Windows and Mac OS X. PwnageTool is a Mac-only program. Sn0wBreeze is for Windows users only.

As always, grab your firmwares and jailbreak tools from our iPhone downloads section.

Have you jailbroken iOS 4.3.2? Let us know how it went in the comments!

    Patiently waiting on iPhone 5.

  • gallium

    Why is Sn0wbreeze less recommended.

Also, any news on the iPad jailbreak.

    • qwertyu

I know, seriously. Segragating PC users like me and everyone else that comes to this website.

  • Eric

Redsn0w is flawless. And awesome. i0n1c’s the man. And the dev tram as usual. And Cydia is so fast now. Never been a better time to be jailbreaker.

I’ve seen posts on twitter from devs that say the snowbreeze jailbreak causes them headaches sometimes. I guess it’s how he does something behind the scenes. Personally I did use it often with my 3GS a d never had an issue. My iPhone 4 though I’ve been really happy with the tinyumbrella / redsnow combo. Got my iPhone 4 on 4.3.2 with the 1.59.00 baseband. Even though I’m on AT&T nice having the unlock there in case it’s needed or if I sell it in the future.

  • Jason Masters

When iPad 2 jailbreak is out that’s some news !!! The stock theme is so boring!!!

  • DIno

I’m using ios 4.2.1 now. I thought of jailbreaking it for 4.3.2.
But how do I do it so that I don’t lose my downloaded apps from Installous and Cydia?

    • Pam

You can redownload, or grab pkgBackup and use that

    • bada

Best thing is to take screenshots of your Cydia apps and repos if you dont have time writing them down and are forgetful. Any apps downloaded via Installous is almost the equivalent to downloading from the AppStore – so when you sync your iphone it will sync those downloads as if it were downloaded from the appstore (providing you have the right set up of course). Also any apps that are in the downloaded section of installous can be deleted as they are of no use because itunes backs up those ipa’s you downloaded.

  • Funked

I’d also like to know whty sn0wbreeze is less recommended? I’ve used it for 4.3.1/4.3.2 and I’ve had zero issues – also it’s the only tool that implements the hidden multitouch gestures. It also implements the other goodies like animated bootlogo’s, iBooks fix etc. The only issue I’m having is the vibrate/mute switch – though people are experiencing this with redsn0w too so it must be a problem with the untether. I think sn0wbreeze should actually be above redsn0w, since it allows you to preserve your baseband if you don’t have access to a Mac and you rely on an unlock.

    • c0edx

It’s for win. Only. Redsn0w is for Mac and Win. everyone can use it, but the other two only one system.

      • Anonymous

But yet Pwnagetool is for mac only and it is recommend?

      • qwertyu

How does that explain pwnage tool being above sn0wbreeze?

  • Victor

So why is Sn0wbreeze less recommended ??
I have 2 devices jailbreaked with Sn0wbreeze on 4.3.2 , working fine both.
And if you are on windows and relly on an unlock, what can you do with RedSn0w or PwnageTool ? 🙂

  • Lami

Do anyone experience a lag or sluggishness when lunching apps once jailbroken?

  • Jumpstile

What about the Verizon iPhones? Anything for 4.2.7?

  • bada

I beg to differ, I have NEVER had any issues with sn0wbreeze. HOWEVER, it is a lengthier process than redsn0w which once I did receive an error for. Not a complaint really, just trying to say that if you have more time on your hands then try sn0wbreeze, plus you get a tad bit more space in you reserved partition in addition to sn0wbreeze allowing it to be changed to a larger size, whereas redsn0w is limited in this area. Oh and one last thing, those multitouch gestures built within the jailbreak – flawless.

    • Anonymous

But comparing sn0wbreeze to Pwnagetool, snowbreeze is faster and easier.

  • Is there a list of cydia apps/tweaks that are compatible with 4.3.2. I’d hate to re-jailbreak and re-download my apps to have something causing springboard to crash or just malfunction.

    • Rozay

All apps are working for me.

      • Cool. My Jailbreak tweak/apps list is a bit erroneous and i’d hate to re-install everything and the springboard crashes because I won’t know what did it. I’m still on 4.2.1.

  • JoBerlin

PwnageTool+ultrasn0w FTW! 4.3.2 is running stable and fast (so far).

  • Vicenr

All Jailbreaks are GOOD. I used both Redsnow and Snowbreeze.
I do not have MAC computer so PWNAGE is useless

  • burdie

When it can jailbreak your idevice, it is a good tool. If it can’t, then it is not good.
I experience some problem during 4.2.1 using greenp0ison (need to try few times) but one kick on redsn0w (though tethered). Done few jailbreak for few unlockers via sn0wbreeze with no problem at all, except for iphone 3g which have compatible issue.
    redsn0w not good for unlockers
sn0wbreeze best for unlockers using windows platform as no other choice.

  • AppleBits

For those on 4.3.2, how is your battery life compared to 4.2.1? I want to upgrade….but the posts of 4.3.1 and battery drain stopped me.
    Thanks!
    AND…does BiteSMS work on 432?

    • Insert name here

I’m pretty sure. At least it says 4.3 compatibility for BiteSMS version 5.2 (I’m still on IOS 4.2.1). But if you’re going to upgrade, I’d suggest going to the beta for some 4.3 bug fixes. You can learn more here.
      http://forums.bitesms.com/forums/6/topics/3649

    • azharhamzahya

For me,I’ve no issue with battery drain on 4.3.2, and BiteSMS works fine.I’m happy with iOS 4.3.2…:)
      P/S I used PwnageTool 4.3.2 to /jailbreak+unlock/ my iphone

  • c0edx

I know we’re talking about 4.3.1/4.3.2 But I still think one of the best jailbreak tools ever created was Greenpois0n and Jailbreakme.com simpel and unique. Snowbreeze takes forever to build a bundel. Everyone here needs a Mac, that way you can also have Windows on it.

  • Vitman

Jailbroke my iPhone 4 within 2 hours of RedSnow RC14, and it was brilliant. Smooth as silk! Great job guys!

  • jimbo

    im about to jailbreak

  • Usersean

Sn0wbreeze is my tool of choice, never had a problem with it.. I don’t understand why people say it’s less recommended myself. Can’t beat making it ra1n though! Geohot needs to get back on the iPhone scene.

  • JoBerlin

I guess they say it’s less recommended because it was released very soon after the update and the version for iOS 4.3.1 had some problems at first. Hopefully the dev-team did some good testing during that extra time.
In the end it doesn’t really matter which tool is chosen. As long as it gets the job done and the phone is stable. It’s more a matter of taste!

  • iPadoholic

Hurry up with the iPad 2 jailbreak please! I’m going through withdrawls, I needs me my crack!

  • Jeff

Ok I have had some problems trying to jailbreak with both redsnow and snowbreeze and this is the issue that I am having.. When I tried to used redsnow to jailbreak and follow the directions correctly and I even made sure that i verified the correct week my 3GS was made but when itry to put it in dfu mode it says I have a newer 3GS, gives me an error and I have to completely restore the device and I did that three times and with snowbreeze, followed the directions perfectly and when I get to the part where it shows iPhone picture in dfu mode, it does nothing and I even did the shift+restore and nothing, even tried to drag the os over to it-nothing can someone tell what am I doing please, thanks in advance

  • Jeff

Ok I have had some problems trying to jailbreak with both redsnow and snowbreeze and both gave me issues where I had to completely restore the 3GS please help

  • pjg61

I have a jailbroken/unlocked 3GS with 4.3.1. I read the change log 4.3.2. I am wondering if it is worthwhile to go to 4.3.2. What will be my benefits? Apple mentions bettery battery life but… is that true?

Btw, in the past, I used redsn0w & ultrasn0w but with 4.3.1 I switched to sn0wbreeze and it works just great. I don’t care that it takes a few more minutes to build the custom IPSW. I know that it won’t f-up my 3GS with my 06.15.00 baseband…

  • Benny G

JB’d using Sn0wBreeze as RedSn0w would just lock up when uploading ramdisk, works a treat now but did find out if your using an Asus mobo and have the Asus Ai charge (iPhone fast charge) enabled, go into services and turn it off – this allowed iTunes to upload the custom Ipsw to the phone. Don’t ask me why but it worked in the end !

  • Jeff

So can anyone give me some insight as to what I am doing wrong please ?!! I miss my jailbreak and trust me, having an iPhone without it, there is a clear difference.

    • Joel

Jeff have you made sure you have the correct version of redsnow or snowbreeze? Cause it has to be the version of jailbreak to match the iOS firmware version.

  • pjg61

    Jeff,

ok, you have a 3GS. What firmware and baseband are currently installed ???

    • Jeff

Well my firmware is 05.16.02, not sure what my baseband is though, where would I find that out cause I looked all over my settings, sorry about that

      • Joel

Are you following the on screen instuctions on how to put your phone in DFU mode? If memory serves me right you need to push the start button the pick up your phone hold home and power for 10 secs then release power and continue holding home. The 05.15.02 is your baseband and that probably means your on version 4.2.1 firmware. Hope this helps.

      • Jeff

Uhhh,my bad sorry was replying while I was sleepy as hell, my firmware is already 4.32, and baseband is 05.16.02, and when I try to jailbreak it with redsnow, and on the step that have you put it in dfu mode, it gives me an error saying that even though I choose the step correctly that asks is my iphone a new one or not(old one), it says that is not correct and ends the process which causes me to have to restore completely and when I do it with snowbreeze 2.6, iTunes doesn’t show the firmware that I jbed when I have the phone in dfu mode

  • pjg61

    Jeff,

First, I hope you are aware that you will *NOT* be able to Unlock the phone even if you jailbreak it. Your baseband is currrently not supported by Ultrasn0w.

So, if you want to jailbreak the phone anyway, if you have a Windows platform, use Sn0wbreeze since it will not update your baseband while unlocking the phone.

Use the instructions found here: http://www.iphoneheat.com/2011/04/jailbreak-432-untethered-with-sn0wbreeze-26/

Create a custom IPSW and then restore it to your phone using iTunes 10.2.2.

Let Sn0wbreeze correctly identify whether you have the new bootrom or the older one…

    • Jeff

Thanks for the advice, and trust me, I am well aware that ultrasnow won’t unlock but I’m not trying to unlock since I am officially on at&t carrier. The problem with ultrasnow is that if though I followed the instructions when verifying if I have an old or new bootrom(week 23, which is supposed to be the old one), when starting the jailbreak process, it gives an error saying that I choose incorrectly and stops the program.

  • Haider Ijaz

Well all those who say that they don’t own a MAC and still want to run Pawnage Tool to jailbreak, i am also one of them but luckily without having a MAC, i use virtual box to install MAC and Pawnage tool and after that i restore my iPhone using my PC. I love this.
@Jeff buddy why do you completely restore your phone after it says your iPhone 3Gs is a new built? You can get out of dfu mode by holding power and home button for ten seconds and then just pressing the power button. no need to restore IF YOU ARE JUST ENTERING DFU MODE.

  • Jeff

Well the problem is that the phone stays stuck in that mode, and won’t come out of it unless I restore it completely, thanks for the advice but trust me, I tried lol.

  • pjg61

Right, so Restore it completely and then restore from backup if required.

  • Haider Ijaz

May be you can try restoring it on a custom firmware.. I can give you the links i have cooked one myself.

    • Jeff

That’s cool, I appreciate that. So in order to do that, how do I get iTunes to pick up the firmware so that it can restore it that way?

  • pjg61

    Jeff,

It’s nice of Haider to offer a custom IPSW *BUT* never never do that. Never accept a custom IPSW from anyone. If you follow the directions I posted above, you can use Sn0wBreeze 2.6 and easily build yourself a custom IPSW for 4.3.2. Then you use iTunes to Restore the custom firmware which does *NOT* update your baseband. This is critical.

Follow the directions I posted above. I updated my 3GS using Sn0wBreeze to 4.3.1 and then 4.3.2 with ZERO problems. Using custom IPSWs, the upgrade went flawlessly…

    • Jeff

Ok well let me ask you this, how I do over iTunes to recognize the new os so it can restore it based on that one, should move it to a certain folder or something ?

  • pjg61

If you read the instructions on the web site I provided, it tells you precisely what to do. You generate the custom IPSW with Sn0wBreeze. Then, Sn0wBreeze will put your 3GS into Pawned DFU mode. Finally, you use iTunes by pressing Shift when selecting the Restore option for your device. This will allow you select which IPSW to restore to the device. You select the one you just generated with Sn0wBreeze. That’s it. Then, let iTunes restore the image. Once it has restored the image and reboots the device, you can then restore your data from a backup (which iTunes does regularily) and finally a sync which will re-install all your alls and data.

    • Jeff

@pjg61-just to let you know, as I had stated in my earlier post, that I did followed the instructions to the t, on both snowbreeze & redsnow and on snowbreeze, the program made the custom ispw, I did hit shift+restore at the same time as the instructions stated, and it did not give me an option to choose which update to restore with, as the steps stated that it would.

      • Haider Ijaz

Dont know why did he say so. may be because he thinks i cooked the firmware while attaching my phone so it could only work with that. But i did not attach my phone. and i did successfully restore one iPhone 3Gs in UK not in my own country with that firmware. If sn0wbreeze works for you its the way to go. I don’t know any thing about sn0w breeze never used it. And did you hit shift before pressing restore or not? It would give you that’s not possible. Try updating your iTunes.

  • Ammar

    Hi all,
    I need a help here,
When I updated this 4.3.2, 4.3.1, and 4.1 on my 3GS (running iOS 3.1.3, on Bb 05.12.01) with sn0wbreeze, at last moment of restoring (all IOS mentioned above) in itunes (almost to finish this update)
    I got
    1. error (29), and
    2. (connect-to-itunes logo).

I tried to exit from the recovery mode via RecBoot, it worked only with 4.1 (just exit and it works)
but in other IOS 4.3.1 and 4.3.1 didn’t work I don’t what is the problem here. And I tried to exit from the recovery mode via RecBoot, Redsn0w, TinyUmbrella but still the (connect-to-itunes logo) there.

    please i need your help.

    thanks in advance.

    PLEASE, HELP!!!

I have an iPhone 3GS from New Zealand which is Factory Unlocked.
I upgraded it to 4.3.2. It was working good with any simcard.
I tried to JB with redsnow and it didn’t work and Cydia was white colored.
Then I used snowbreeze 2.6 to JB it and it was passed without errors.
    But now I don’t have a signal!!!!!
I tried any simcard and it doesn’t work.
Then I tried to restore original firmware from iTunes and after that it said that my phone is blocked.

    PLEASE, HELP!!!

    • Haider Ijaz

You have made a big mistake. Restoring to the latest firmware means that your baseband is udpated. Now the only choice you have is that jailbreak it with redsn0w and then upgrade its baseband to 6.15 with redsn0w. There is no other choice. You won’t be able to unlock your phone. you SHOULD NOT haver restored it to original firmware.

      • Crypter

Why should I care about baseband on the FACTORY UNLOCKED iPhone????

    • Haider Ijaz

Oh sorry my bad. I didn’t read that line. You should try redsn0w again for that instance. Sometimes the jailbreaking process goes wrong. May be that’s the issue. I don’t know about snowbreeze i haven’t used it till now for jailbreaking.

  • jagzc

im happy with 4.1, boot logos are buggy, Im hoping on a new jailbrakeme …. yes im that lazy 😛

  • joshy

i am using 4.3.2. i just want to unlock my iphone. can i do through this.?
