Apple seeds third iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, macOS 11.4, watchOS 7.5, and tvOS 14.6 betas to developers

Apple is moving right along, preparing its major platforms for the next update. Today, a new beta seed is available to developers.

On Monday, Apple seeded the third betas of iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, macOS 11.4 Big Sur, watchOS 7.5, and tvOS 14.6 to developers. As was discovered with the previous betas, these software updates are minor in the grand scheme of things. While iOS 14.5’s update brought with it a variety of new features to the mix, that is not the case with this new software.

Apple is striving to keep the software running fast and smooth, squashing any bugs or other issues, and more behind-the-scenes tweaks.

As is par for the course, these beta seeds are not meant for a daily driver. The software is still potentially rough around the edges and may make using it on a primary device not so great.

To update, registered developers can download and install the newest beta as an over-the-air (OTA) update on properly configured devices. The only must-know is that the Apple Watch must have at least 50 percent battery life, be connected to its charger, and also be paired to the iPhone.

The latest beta is available now. A corresponding public beta will likely be seeded for select software in the near future.
