Snapchat for iPhone now supports the system-wide dark mode feature that Apple launched almost two years ago with the release of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13. Better late than never!

Snapchat for iOS gains dark mode support

Snapchat began testing a dark mode theme of its app design late last year with a small group of iOS users. Now, Snapchat says that as of this week, it has flipped the switch on access to dark mode for more than 90 percent of its iOS user base, offering millions of users access to the less eye-straining app interface.
Almost all major iOS and iPadOS apps now support dark mode.

As a major social network rather than yet another easily forgotten app, Snapchat should have been among the first to support the ability to switch between light and dark modes on iOS.
How to turn on dark mode in Snapchat for iOS
Now rolling out to users, dark mode can be turned on in the Snapchat settings.
- Open Snapchat on your iPhone.
- Touch your profile picture.
- Now choose the settings cog icon in the top-right corner.
- Choose “App Appearance” from the list of settings.
- Choose between these three settings:
- Match System: Match your system-wide choice in Settings → Display & Brightness.
- Always Dark: Use the darkened interface regardless of the system theme.
- Always Light: Snapchat will always use the light interface.
