Video shows off iPhone 13 Pro Max dummy unit with a smaller notch

Later this year, Apple’s going to launch the iPhone 13 lineup. Unless something really crazy happens. But, as long as we stay on course and new iPhones do get unveiled, those new handsets might boast a slightly different design.

But only slightly different. Actually, it might only be one thing that changes when the iPhone 13 Pro Max is compared to the iPhone 12 Pro Max. And that’s the notch. Otherwise, the handsets will likely be very similar to one another.

The good news is that changing the notch is one of the most oft-requested changes, so it will probably be a welcomed one. Of course, these are all just rumors at this point because nothing is official, yet. And that’s where Unbox Therapy comes in.

The YouTube channel picked up a dummy unit sourced by Ben Geskin for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. As is par for the course, the dummy unit is based on leaked schematics, but there’s always time for some changes. So while this is probably a very good look at what’s coming down the pipe, it’s possible Apple may make some tweaks to the design before the big reveal later this year.

The new design will feature the smaller notch, which Apple will achieve, in part, by moving the speaker to the top bezel. This means it won’t be in the notch anymore. A redesigned TrueDepth camera is helping with the redesign as well.

Are you looking forward to the new notch in the iPhone 13 Pro Max?
