Give your iPhone’s keyboard the personalized touch it deserves with ProKeys

The keyboard is an integral part of the iPhone’s operating system that users will interface with just about every day. It does everything it’s supposed to do right out of the box, yet Apple doesn’t offer much by way of personalization. That’s just one of many reasons why the keyboard is one of the most popular things to customize upon jailbreaking.

One of the latest jailbreak tweaks to lend a hand in this department is a paid release called ProKeys by iOS developer Justin Proulx, which features eye-catching aesthetics like RGB coloring and animations, along with haptic feedback, among other things.

In the screenshot examples below, you’ll see just a few examples of what’s made possible with ProKeys, including touch-driven key animations, interface colorization, and much more:

Once installed, users will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where they can configure ProKeys to their liking:

Options here include:

  • Enabling or disabling ProKeys on demand
  • Configuring Physical Click options
  • Configuring Color & Style options
  • Configuring Animation options
  • Testing your keyboard setup

Digging deeper, we’ll show you what you can do in each of the aforementioned preference panes:

  • Choose a haptic feedback strength:
    • Soft
    • Light

    • Bubble
    • Halo
    • Firework
  • Adjust the size of the animation by entering a pixel value (default 125)
  • Adjust the animation duration via a slider
  • Enable or disable snapping the animation to the key being used
  • Choose between manual or random animation colors
    • Select a manual color if that option was selected instead of random
  • Adjust the animation color hue via a slider
  • Adjust the animation SAT via a slider
  • Adjust the animation LIT via a slider

With all the options above, jailbreakers can enjoy a fully custom keyboard experience on their pwned iPhone. Not only will they physically feel each key tap with granular haptic feedback controls, but the viewing experience will be augmented with animations and custom colors.

Those interested in giving the new ProKeys tweak a try can purchase it for $1.99 from the Chariz repository via their favorite package manager. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 and 14 devices.
