Siri reveals that Apple’s special event is happening the next Tuesday

If you fire up the Siri virtual assistant on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, HomePod or Apple Watch right now and ask when the next Apple event is taking place, you’ll get a straight answer.

UPDATE: April 20 is now official as Apple sent out invites after this piece went live.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Siri says Apple’s special event is on April 20.
  • This could also be a very unlikely error.
  • Or, Apple could be simply trolling us.
  • Either way, expect new Apple gadgets soon.

“Hey Siri, when’s the next Apple event?”

“The special event is on Tuesday, April 20, at Apple Park in Cupertino, California,” is Siri’s response to the question. “You can get all the details on Apple.com,” reads the Siri prompt which also includes a convenient “Go to Apple.com” button.

Visiting the Apple homepage at post time revealed no indication about the supposed April 20 event. At any rate, we’re expecting an event at some point this month because Apple has not released any new hardware products since the start of 2020 so it’s high time it does so. The event will likely be in the form of a pre-recorded video streamed via YouTube and Apple.com.
