This tweak gives the iPad a proportionate Control Center background blur

It’s no secret that the iPad’s Control Center user experience leaves a lot to be desired. In fact, we recently covered the release of a free jailbreak tweak called Yuna that makes better use of all the otherwise wasted and unused space.

When you open Control Center on the iPad, the entire display becomes blurred, yet the actual Control Center interface is contained to the right-most 1/3 if the display. Seems overkill, don’t you think?

Anyone who agrees with the sentiment above will appreciate the likes of a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called ProperCCBackground(iPad) by iOS developer Brend0n, as it limits the display blur to the confines of the Control Center interface on the iPad.

In the screenshot example above, you’ll see how this looks. In my opinion, it looks better than Apple’s native full-screen blur because Control Center doesn’t take up the entire screen on the iPad — especially not on larger displayed iPads.

ProperCCBackground(iPad) doesn’t come with any options to configure and what you see is ultimately what you get.

While I personally enjoy the concept of Yuna more because it makes actual use of the empty space in the iPad’s Control Center interface, ProperCCBackground(iPad) is a good option for those who don’t want to make the interface any busier than it already is.

ProperCCBackground(iPad) is available as a free download from Brend0n’s repository via your favorite package manager, and supports jailbroken installations of iPadOS 13 & 14.
