Apple TV+ offers a look at the making of the Academy Award-nominated hand-drawn world of ‘Wolfwalkers’

Cartoon Saloon is known for making beautiful, eye-catching films. That is certainly the case with the company’s latest, the animated feature film Wolfwalkers for Apple TV+. Now, the streaming service is going behind the scenes to look at how the project came together.

One of the strengths of Wolfwalkers is its animation style, bolstered by a completely hand-drawn world where the characters live. It’s a process that takes a lot of time, and care, and attention, but the end result is certainly something to behold. Today, Apple TV+ published a relatively quick video to its YouTube channel to promote a behind the scenes look at how it all came together.

The video measures in at just over three minutes. During the runtime, you’ll see artist and designers building the world of Wolfwalkers, and see how the animation style really pops. Of course, you’ll also meet some of the crew that worked on the project along the way.

Here’s the video:

Wolfwalkers was recently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. However, that’s not all of the awards the feature film has been nominated for. The EE British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) gave the film recognition, as did the Annie Awards. Wolfwalkers also picked up a nomination from this year’s Golden Globes as well.

And there is more on the way from the studio, too. Earlier this year, the two directors of the film, Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart confirmed that Cartoon Saloon is working on an “epic” series for Apple TV+.
