It has been almost 20 days since Apple released the last minor update for iOS 14. Now, the company is back with another.
On Friday, Apple released iOS 14.4.2 and iPadOS 14.4.2 to the public. As the version number suggests, this is another minor update for the mobile operating system. As such, there aren’t a lot of changes for the end user with the new software. The update is meant more to help smooth out any ruffles behind the scenes, patch issues, and the like.
The update is available now for supported devices. As is par for the course, the update is free to download and install.
To update manually, open Settings –> General –> Software Update and follow the onscreen instructions. If you have Automatic Updates switched on, then your supported device will automatically download the new software and install it overnight when the device is charging.

In addition to the updates for iOS and iPadOS, Apple also released a minor update for the Apple Watch. The new software version is watchOS 7.3.3, and it’s a minor update. To update, open the Watch app –> General –> Software Update. If you have Automatic Updates switched on, the device will update automatically overnight.
