How and why to turn on Wi-Fi Calling on your iPhone

Learn how to enable Wi-Fi calling on your iPhone and other devices so you never miss a call, even if you’re in a spot with little or no cellular service.

Enable Wi-Fi Calling iPhone

If you’re in a location with poor cellular service or none at all but can connect to Wi-Fi, consider using Wi-Fi Calling for calls on your iPhone. Once enabled, you can make and receive calls without worrying about the cell signal.

This is also helpful if you spend most of your time inside your house or office that has little to no cellular signal but great Wi-Fi connectivity.

Requirements

Be sure to review these items before enabling this Wi-Fi Calling feature on your iPhone.

  • Your carrier must support Wi-Fi Calling. Check the Apple Support site for your country and carrier.
  • You need to use an iPhone 5c or later.
  • You may need to enter or verify your address for emergency calls which normally use cellular service.
