Page Dots 2 Numbers gives jailbreakers book-inspired Home Screen page numbers

At the bottom of your iPhone or iPad’s Home Screen are a series of dots – one for each page on your Home Screen. As you move between pages, a specific dot lights up to represent the page you’re currently looking at.

While I personally enjoy the Home Screen’s page dot indicator as it comes, I can certainly grasp how someone harder at seeing than I am could have more difficulty discerning which page they’re on. For that reason, a new and free jailbreak tweak called Page Dots 2 Numbers by iOS developer MinxterYT seems noteworthy.

The concept behind Page Dots 2 Numbers is simple: to replace the Home Screen’s native page dot indicator with a page number indicator. As you’ll see in the screenshot examples below, the page number indicator is easier to see and makes quick work of determining which Home Screen page you’re looking at:

If you’ve ever read a book before, then Page Dots 2 Numbers will evoke a familiar vibe with its centered page number indicator. Admittedly, it doesn’t look as good as the native Home Screen page dots do, but it certainly does stand out a lot more. Assuming my vision wasn’t as good as it is, Page Dots 2 Numbers would be much easier to use if I was trying to figure out which Home Screen page I was on.

As you might come to expect, the page number changes as you swipe between Home Screen pages – it goes up as you swipe to the right and down as you swipe to the left. One thing worth noting is that unlike the original Home Screen page indicator, Page Dots 2 Numbers doesn’t offer a way to see the total number of Home Screen pages you have.

Citing a response to a comment posted in the /r/jailbreak release thread, the developer is considering adding an option to address the aforementioned grievance. It’s certainly something I’d like to see as the tweak’s development progresses, as I’m sure many would agree.

At this time, the tweak doesn’t have any options to configure, so what you see is what you get. We’d like to see options to tweaking the indicator’s appearance, size, and other attributes.

Those interested in trying the new Page Dots 2 Numbers tweak can download it for free from MinxterYT’s repository via their favorite package manager. We can confirm that it supports jailbroken iOS 13 devices, but it may also work on other versions.

If you’re not already using MinxterYT’s repository, then you can add it to your package manager of choice with the following URL:
