In this week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have a super smart price-tracker, a universal remote app, and a habit-tracker. And as always, we’ve selected two great games for you to check out.
PriceBot
PriceBot makes it super easy to track the price of any product, on virtually any website. All you need to do is copy the URL of the product’s web page, add it to PriceBot, and let the app do the rest. There’s some machine learning magic here and I guess some sort of scraping? Whatever it is, it’s impressive.
TV Remote
The whole ‘control your TV with your phone’ dream is a lot more possible these days. TV Remote works with a wide range of TVs: the app auto-detects compatible TVs within range and once connected, gives you near-full control over them. You can connect to multiple sets at once, and there are widgets and an Apple Watch app.
Onrise: Habit Tracker
Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Onrise helps you build beneficial habits and work more efficiently. Yeah it seems like there are a million of these types of apps out there, but I thought this one looked sharp and thus noteworthy. And hey you never know, this could be the app that works for you.
Guess The Word
This is Guess The Word, and the developers believe it can help you increase your vocabulary and polish your language skills. I don’t know about all of that, but I love a good word game and kind of dig the quirky, old-school 8-bit aesthetic here.
Dangle Dash
Prefer a game that offers NO educational value? Check out Dangle Dash. In it, you’re a hockey player that must deke, chip and toe drag your way through a series of obstacles, using 1-tap controls. It’s essentially an endless runner with a hockey twist, and it’s actually pretty fun.
