SongMatcher, Hal, Simply Snack and other apps to check out this weekend

In this week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have a match-maker for songs on different music services, a non-AI digital assistant, and a photo food diary. And as always, we’ve selected two great games for you to check out.

SongMatcher

Have you ever come across a song you want to send to a friend, only to realize they belong to a different streaming service than you? If yes, then you should check out SongMatcher. Simply copy a link to a song from any music service and tap ‘match,’ and the app will take care of the rest.

Hal – Personal Assistant

So I don’t know what to make of this app, but I knew I had to share it. Forget AI, Hal uses HI—Human Intelligence. That’s right, each time Hal is asked a question, a random person is assigned to respond. Ask it anything, about any topic, and hey they promise it’s all nice and private.

Simply Snack – Food Diary

Manually logging everything you eat throughout the day can be a tedious task—so tedious in fact that a lot of folks skip that part in MyFitnessPal and other workout programs. That’s where Simply Snack comes in. Just take a photo of what you eat, and at the end of the day/week/month, you can see at a glance how your diet is going.

Fisherman Cards Game

In the mood for something a little different? Check out Fisherman Cards Game. It’s obviously a strategy card game, with some RPG elements, as you play as a legendary fisherman who must conquer the seven seas. Features include a detailed story line, unlockable cards, and more.

Headland

Headland is a fast-paced action adventure game in which you swipe, tap, fight, upgrade and explore. Again we have a storyline full of vivid characters set in a big imaginary world. I also like that there are no micro transactions or ads—play the full game in a trial mode, and if you like it you can unlock it with a single IAP.
