In this week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have a new take on web searches, a productivity tool for screenshot-takers, and a fun AR app that brings your music to life. And as always, we’ve selected two great games for you to check out.
Xayn – Web Search as it should be
I can’t tell if this is a full-blown browser or just a web search app, but either way it’s super interesting. The interface is sharp and it has great features, but the focus here is privacy. The AI is behavior driven—your behavior—and it all happens on your device.
Screenshot Journal
Here’s a nice little productivity tool. It’s called Screenshot Journal, and as the name suggests, it helps you archive and organize your screenshots. I know not everyone takes a bunch of screenshots, but for those that do, this app is worth checking out.
Beatsy
Beatsy is an AR music visualizer that uses your phone’s microphone or music to modify real world surfaces. Turn your wall into a giant speaker or transform a road into a rolling wave of notes. You really have to see this thing in action to get it.
SteamWorld Quest
Have some free time this weekend? Get lost in SteamWorld Quest. It’s the roleplaying card game you’ve been waiting for. Lead a party of aspiring heroes through a beautiful hand-drawn world and intense battles using only your wits and a handful of cards.
Shooter: Space Age!
If you’re looking for something more arcade-esque, check out Shooter: Space Age! It’s a 2D arcade-style space shooter in which you must blast your way through an endless wave of enemies across the galaxy and survive as long as you can.
