Apple is working on a fix for the iPhone 12 intermitent wireless charging issue

If your iPhone 12 is one day charging on your Qi-compatible wireless charger normally as it should only to stop charging the next day, then you’re definitely not alone. This is a known software bug in iOS and Apple has now confirmed that it’s working on a fix.

The problem manifests itself when using Qi-certified chargers. In most instances, restarting the devices solves the problem but only temporarily. Nearly a thousand people on Apple’s support forums have confirmed being plagued with this problem.

According to 9to5Mac, one of their readers was told in an online chat with Apple Support that the company is aware of the problem and is working to resolve it. “Yes we have been going through the issues which customers are facing,” a customer support representative said, adding that “It will be resolved soon”.

It’s likely the iPhone 12 wireless charging problem will be fixed in an upcoming iOS update. Apple is also tracking a few other teething issues with the latest iPhones, including excessive battery drain when idle and persistent drops in cellular coverage.
