Smart home security specialists EZVIZ have unveiled a new video doorbell accessory with night vision that delivers full 1080p HD video with a 170-degree vertical field of view.
Dubbed the DB1C Video, the accessory could be an ideal holiday purchase to improve your smart home security and personal safety. Plus, the video doorbell is currently on sale for just $69.99 in Walmart until the New Year, making it even more appealing.
The accessory is powered by an artificial intelligence algorithm that allows it to intelligently detect a person’s movement, ensuring that users will only receive notifications when people move past (you can turn it off at will). Thanks to its vertical field of view, the device can capture a head-to-toe view of visitors and clear recordings of any deliveries left on the doorstep.
When a visitor rings the bell, the vice initiates a video call with two-way talk via the EZVIZ app on your smartphone. This lets you answer the door no matter where you happen to be. The device can be operated by voice via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The IP65-rated doorbell works reliably in rain, sleet or snow.

Unlike many of the video doorbells on the market, the EZVIZ DB1C supports dual-band Wi-Fi, providing users with the option of 2.4 or 5 GHz connections for optimal network performance. The DB1C also features upgraded storage solutions, with advanced H.265 video compression technology to achieve better video quality using only half the bandwidth and half of the storage space of the previous H.264 compression standard.
A built-in MicroSD card slot can store up to 256 GB of recorded footage and images. Additional backup is available through EZVIZ’s encrypted cloud service with subscription plans that can store up to 30 days of video history. The data transmission between the camera and the EZVIZ Cloud is end-to-end encrypted using AES 128 bit encryption, TLS encryption protocol and more.
Unfortunately, the video doorbell currently does not support Apple’s HomeKit framework for the connected home so capturing recordings in iCloud and tighter integration with the Home app, Siri and the Apple ecosystem are currently unsupported until they add HomeKit compatibility.
