Team unc0ver announces plan to launch Substitute v2.0 with speed & performance gains

The unc0ver Team has been extraordinarily silent  despite FreeTheSandbox and ZecOps releasing a new tfp0 exploit with support for iOS & iPadOS versions 13.5.1-13.7recently , but that silence was broken this Sunday evening following a rather intriguing announcement.

The announcement, shared in a Tweet by the unc0ver Team and retweeted by unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd reveals exactly what the team has been working on all this time — a reworked version of Substitute:

The upcoming release of Substitute, dubbed version 2.0, will purportedly be compatible with both the checkra1n and unc0ver jailbreaks on iOS and iPadOS versions 11 through 14. The unc0ver Team reveals that it will bring unprecedented app loading speed improvements along with a novel tweak injection system that should be substantially less demanding on system resources.

Apparently, this is one update that performance nuts won’t want to miss.

The unc0ver Team still hasn’t confirmed whether or not it will be adding support for FreeTheSandbox’s latest tfp0 exploit, which is a question that many are undoubtedly wondering. At this time, the competing Odyssey jailbreak is the only tool that supports it.

If you’re using either the checkra1n or unc0ver jailbreak, are you looking forward to the potential performance gains offered by the upcoming Substitute v2.0? Let us know in the comments section down below.
