Apple confirms a fix is coming for audio problems with certain iPhone hearing aids

If you’re using an MFi (Made for iOS)-certified hearing device with an iPhone, you’ll be delighted to learn that Apple is aware of the sound quality issue and will fix it in a future software update.

According to Apple’s support document acknowledging the problem, which was first spotted by MacRumors, certain hearing devices connected to the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro Max may exhibit various sound-related issues, including but not limited to weird noises, loud static, garbled or interrupted audio and similar.

The publication notes that these issues have been reported and documented by users on Reddit, in the Apple Support Communities and other online forums. “Apple is aware of this issue and will provide a fix in a future software update,” according to the support document.

The company did not specify which iOS version may fix the problem.

The new iPhone 12 smartphones arrive with iOS 14.0.1 preinstalled. That being said, Apple recently released iOS 14.2 and is currently testing the upcoming iOS 14.3 update. It should be note that the company’s reaction time in situations like this has improved greatly over the past few years. Now minor annoyances and issues like this are met with a rapid response from the company rather than leave us waiting for the next major iOS update to arrive.

In other words, Apple may soon release iOS 14.2.1 to fix this problem.
