The new Mac mini, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models powered by the new Apple M1 laptop chip bring support for Wi-Fi 6 aka 802.11ax to the Mac platform for the first time.
It’s spelled in black and white right there on Apple’s Compare Mac webpage, as well as in the technical specifications for each new system. It should be noted that this is not related to the capabilities of the M1 silicon because Wi-Fi 6 is offered on Windows laptops with Intel chips.
No Intel-based Mac computers support Wi-Fi 6.

Wi-Fi 6 brings increased range, faster speeds, lower latency and expanded network capacity. While Wi-Fi 6 is hardly a new thing — the specification was finalized two years ago. Slowly but surely, though, it’s been trickling down to notebooks, routers and other devices.
