Apple TV app launching on Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X consoles on November 10

What was once a rumor has now been confirmed by Microsoft itself, with the Apple TV coming soon to the company’s video game consoles.

On November 2, Microsoft officially announced that the Apple TV app will launch on its video game consoles next week. The app will be available on the Xbox Series S and Series X –the company’s newest consoles– on launch day, November 10. The app will also be available on the Xbox One S and Xbox One X, Microsoft’s current consoles, on the same date.

When our all-new Xbox family of consoles launch worldwide on November 10, you’ll have more than just the entertainment apps you enjoy today on Xbox One. We’re excited to share that the Apple TV app is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on November 10.

With the Apple TV app, Xbox owners will be able to access the original content from Apple TV+, including Defending Jacob, Servant, and, of course, the smash-hit comedy Ted Lasso (which was just renewed for third season!). The Apple TV app also means users will be able to access content from Apple TV Channels, including Showtime, CBS All Access, and others. And finally, the Apple TV app means users can access content from the iTunes Store for purchasing/renting movies and TV shows, too.

There’s so much more available on the Apple TV app. You can also subscribe to channels like Showtime, CBS All Access and AMC+. You can browse to buy or rent more than 100,000 movies and shows, with access to your library of previous movie and TV show purchases from Apple. You can watch online, ad-free and on demand through the app. In addition, Family Sharing lets six family members share subscriptions to Apple TV channels using their personal Apple ID and password.

This is expected news, honestly. Not only because it was rumored last month, but also because Sony confirmed back in October that the Apple TV app is heading to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles on November 12.
