Apple One is now available, bundles services like Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and more starting at $15 per month

Apple announced Apple One, its new bundling options for several services, earlier this year. And now, after plenty of waiting, the bundles are now available.

Apple has launched Apple One in the United States and in over 100 other countries beginning today. With these bundle options customers can bundle several different services including Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and Apple TV+, among others, all for a set amount of money per month. The bundles start at $15 per month for an individual, and go up to $30 per month that supports Family Sharing.

To sign up for Apple One, here’s what to do:

  • Open Settings on your iOS device
  • Select your Apple ID
  • Choose Subscriptions
  • Select “Get Apple One” and choose your plan

We heard just yesterday that Apple One was going to launch today, and that panned out.

Apple One bundles start at $14.95 per month. Here’s how they break down:

  • Individual includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage for $14.95 per month.
  • Family includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud storage for $19.95 per month, and can be shared among up to six family members.
  • Premier, where available, includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and 2TB of iCloud storage for $29.95 per month, and can be shared among up to six family members.

If you pay for these subscription services individually right now, it’s probably worth bundling the options together into one unified bill. Plus, it can save you some money, depending on what you use. For an individual that uses all of these services, they’ll save $8 per month by bundling with Apple One. If you sign up for Premier and use all the services (and plan on using Fitness+), then you can save a whopping $25 per month by subscribing to Apple One.

It’s worth noting here that the Premier plan is only available in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. These are the only regions where Apple News+ is available right now.

The lowdown on free trials

Apple is offering a 30-day free trial for anyone who tries out Apple One. However, these free trials are only available for customers who don’t already have active subscriptions. That makes sense if you’re aiming to get a month’s worth of Apple One at no cost.

Something to be aware of, though: Apple recently extended the original year’s free trial of Apple TV+ to February earlier this year. And if you purchased an iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro, you more than likely picked up a three month free trial of Apple Arcade, which means if you use these subscriptions (or took advantage of the free trials), you have these services at no cost until February, 2021.

If you sign up for an Apple One bundle, you’re going to be charged the full price for the bundle. That means either $15, $20, or $30 per month — it doesn’t matter if you have a free trial to one of these services. After speaking with an Apple customer support representative, I was advised that it’s worth waiting to sign up for Apple One until after the free trials expire.

But, it comes down to cost-benefit analysis for the individual or family looking at Apple One. The bundles do save money, generally speaking, and if you use enough of the services. But if you’re running a few different free trials for Apple’s services, then it’s probably worth waiting for the free trials to end before you sign up.
