Tim Cook teases ‘more exciting things’ are coming in 2020

We’re on the cusp of November, which means 2020 is coming to an end soon. But that doesn’t mean Apple doesn’t have more in store for us.

Following Apple’s earnings report for its fourth fiscal quarter, the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, spent some time taking questions during the earnings report follow-up call. The chief executive didn’t say anything specific, so we can’t say what’s coming down the pipe. But he’s more than willing to start the hype train anyway.

Cook said he doesn’t want to give too much away, but then added that this year “has a few more exciting things in store”. The key part of this statement is “a few more”, because that entails more than just one new product. We already know that Apple is going to launch the first Apple Silicon Mac before the end of 2020, but we don’t know what kind of Mac it will be. It’s possible we get more than one laptop with an ARM-based processor under the hood, based on what Cook is teasing here.

However, that might not be the case, either. The rumor mill has suggested Apple is going to host another virtual event before the end of November. It’s likely we’ll see the first Apple Silicon Mac at this event, and we’ll probably get other oft-rumored devices like AirTags, or AirPods Studio.

Either way, it sounds like we’ve got a bit more to look forward to before the end of 2020.
